Pierce Brosnan pleads not guilty after allegedly entering Yellowstone's protected thermal area
MONTANA, WYOMING: Pierce Brosnan is going to stand his ground after pleading not guilty for allegedly entering the protected thermal area of Yellowstone.
The former ‘James Bond’ posted a picture of himself standing on a white crust, which appeared to be just like the one found in the park’s restricted thermal areas, reports People.
The alleged incident took place on November 1
The incident took place in Yellowstone National Park, where the actor was hiking in Yellowstone’s hot springs.
As per a court document, Brosnan was cited in Wyoming after allegedly entering protected thermal areas.
TMZ shared a picture of the star standing on a white crust that resembled some of the park’s thermal attractions which was deleted by Brosnan later.
In December, a criminal docket filed in the US District Court in Wyoming revealed that the actor was cited for pedestrian travel "within all thermal areas and Yellowstone Canyon, confined to trails" and for "violating closures and use limits" on November 1. Both citations are categorized as petty offenses.
The thermal areas within the park comprise hot springs, geysers, mudpots, travertine terraces, and fumaroles, per Yellowstone National Park’s official site.

Why it was dangerous to walk in the restricted area of the National Park?
Visitors to Yellowstone are required to adhere to numerous safety regulations regarding the thermal areas.
The park cautions that the ground surrounding these areas "may be only a thin crust above boiling hot springs," and it cannot be confirmed whether the area is safe or not.
Additionally, visitors are required to remain on the designated walking pathways as the "pools are acidic enough to burn through boots."
Brosnan visited Wyoming in October for the filming of 'The Unholy Trinity,' an upcoming historical epic that also stars Samuel L Jackson, Brandon Lessard, and Ethan Peck.

In 'The Unholy Trinity,' Brosnan's character instructs his estranged son (Lessard) to eliminate the individual responsible for framing him for a crime he did not commit.
The majority of the Western is being shot at the Yellowstone Film Ranch in Paradise Valley, as reported by the Livingston Enterprise.
The judge approved Brosnan's request to waive his initial court appearance and scheduled a virtual conference for February 20.
