LONDON, ENGLAND: The revelation of Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis reportedly blindsided Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, with the news catching them off guard on the day it broke globally.

"They had no idea, and only learned of the news around the same time the rest of the world found out," disclosed an insider. “This goes to show the irreparable damage they have caused. The trust has been broken and the royal family is OK distancing themselves from them.”

Despite the apparent lack of prior knowledge, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did extend a brief message of support following Kate's announcement. "We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace," the statement from Prince Harry and Meghan read, reported New York Post.

Kate Middleton' reveals cancer diagnosis 

Kate's public disclosure of her cancer diagnosis comes after she revealed she had undergone abdominal surgery at The London Clinic around the same time. The news was made public on Friday, March 22, following intense speculation surrounding her health.

In a heart-wrenching videotaped statement, the 42-year-old mother of three shared, "The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present."

“I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery."
