Prince Harry upset about Archie and Lilibet missing out on Royal Easter celebrations, expert claims
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Prince Harry is upset that his and Meghan Markle's children, Archie and Lilibet, are going to miss out on bonding with other royal children, notably their cousins George, Louis, and Charlotte, during the family’s traditional Easter celebrations at Windsor Castle, according to royal author Tom Quinn.
Royal expert claims family rift is preventing Prince Harry's children from bonding with their cousins
Speaking to The Mirror, Quinn noted, "The Royal Family traditionally meet on Easter Sunday at Windsor for a service in St George’s Chapel, followed by a brief walkabout and then a very traditional lunch of roast lamb."
He continued, "Harry always enjoyed this tradition because he got to meet an adoring public for a short period. But what’s really going to upset Harry this year is that his children will miss out on the Easter egg hunt that takes place afterward."
Quinn added, "Of course, it would’ve given Archie and Lillibet a chance to get to know George, Charlotte, and Louis. The family rift is going to prevent this and Harry will feel it keenly."
Like every year, this year too, the royal family assembled in Windsor for the festivities. In one of his first public appearances since getting diagnosed with cancer in February, King Charles appeared in a jolly mood as he was accompanied by his wife Queen Camilla.
The 75-year-old British monarch was joined by his siblings including Prince Edward and his spouse Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne, and Prince Andrew.
However, the Prince and Princess of Wales were absent from the public celebrations. It has been speculated that Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children celebrated Easter privately in their residence at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.
Prince William and Kate Middleton 'nervous' about Prince Harry's upcoming visit to the UK
In another interview with The Mirror, Quinn propounded that Prince William and Kate are "really nervous" regarding the Duke of Sussex's visit to the UK, scheduled for May.
Harry will be present in the UK to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Invictus Games, a multisport event that he founded in 2014.
Quinn shared, "William and Kate are really nervous that whether Harry comes alone or with Meghan there are going to be difficulties and a great deal of planning is going on to try to reduce all the inevitable awkwardness and embarrassment – one plan being looked is to let the brothers appear in public for a short period to try to show they can at least be civil to each other."
He further noted, "It’s a question of the lesser of two evils. If Harry comes to the UK in May and avoids his brother and Kate, there will be more damaging speculation than if they try to patch things up just enough to cope with a short meeting."
