SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO: Daddy Yankee held his farewell performance on Sunday, December 3, at the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, where he announced that he was retiring to dedicate his life to Christianity.

The Puerto Rican rapper had announced his final tour on his official website in 2022. His tour, La Ultima Vuelta (meaning the last round or last lap), finally came to a close with a series of four consecutive shows in Puerto Rico titled 'La Meta' beginning on November 30.

"My people, this is the most important day of my life and I want to share it with you, because living a life of success is not the same as living a life with purpose," Daddy Yankee said in Spanish.

Daddy Yankee devotes his life to Christianity

"For many years I've tried filling a void in my life that no one could fill. I tried finding a purpose. On many occasions, it seemed as if I was happy but something was missing for me to feel complete. I have to confess that those days are over and someone was able to fill that void that I felt for a lot of time," he said.

He further added, "I realized that for everyone I was someone but I was no one without him. Throughout the years I was able to travel the world, win many awards, applaud and praise but I realized something that's in the Bible: For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"

"All the tools that I have in my possession such as music, social media, platforms, a microphone - everything that God has given me is now for his kingdom,' the 'King of Reggaeton," said.
