The agency said that the gunman had been "neutralized". According to the Trump team and the Republican National Committee, the former President is "doing well" and is excited to attend the RNC in Milwaukee next week.

According to the FBI, it will head the main law enforcement investigation into the alleged assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. According to the agency, local and state law enforcement as well as the Secret Service will be collaborating with it.

The national security division of the Justice Department, the US attorney's office in the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the ATF are all conducting investigations, according to Attorney General Merrick Garland.
