Ronny Jackson further said, "And I don’t know if you guys have the picture or not, but he was grazed in the neck. A bullet crossed his neck, cut his neck, and he was bleeding."
The Texas Republican, who was also a physician at the White House, claimed that the pen was "in the line of fire" as it was to the former President's right. Jackson clarified that following the event, his sister-in-law had urged his nephew to visit the triage tent.
Following the gunshot earlier on Saturday, Trump was promptly taken from his campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania. According to the US Secret Service, two attendees suffered serious injuries, and one rally-goer succumbed to their injuries.
The agency said that the gunman had been "neutralized". According to the Trump team and the Republican National Committee, the former President is "doing well" and is excited to attend the RNC in Milwaukee next week.
Donald Trump's shooter identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks
The person who shot Donald Trump during the Pennsylvania had been identified as a 20-year-old man named Thomas Matthew Crooks.
Kevin Rojek, Special Agent in Charge, FBI Pittsburgh field office said when asked if law enforcement did not know the shooter was on the roof until he began firing, "That is our assessment at this time."
He added that the shooter's ability to discharge as many bullets as fired is astonishing. He also said, "All the details of that will come out later investigation."
When asked whether there was anything about the location that made it especially challenging to secure, Lt Col. Bivens of the State Police referred questions to the Secret Service, which was not present during the press conference.
According to the FBI, it will head the main law enforcement investigation into the alleged assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. According to the agency, local and state law enforcement as well as the Secret Service will be collaborating with it.
The national security division of the Justice Department, the US attorney's office in the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the ATF are all conducting investigations, according to Attorney General Merrick Garland.
