LINCOLN COUNTY, OREGON: Robert Bruce Poe was arrested for fatally stabbing his mother, Judy D Poe, under the belief that she was a vampire.
Robert called the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies on March 12 to report that he had 'accidentally' killed Judy. Additional details regarding the charges against Robert and his scheduled court appearance have been disclosed following the investigation.
Judy D Poe found dead some distance away from her home
After Robert notified the police, they arrived at his residence on East Logsden Road in Siletz. In the house, police found him with blood-covered hands and clothes, holding his mother’s purse and a letter.
According to Dailymail, they found no sign of the body at that time.
However, later on, officials discovered Judy's body approximately 250 yards away from the house, close to a 2004 Gold Chrysler PT Cruiser.
According to court records, the vehicle was stuck between a significant mound of gravel and an excavator, with its front wheels firmly embedded in the gravel, indicating it had become lodged.
Upon approaching Judy's body, deputies noticed a 'large round stake, which appeared to be the broken end of a garden tool, protruding from her throat'. Lincoln County officials officially confirmed her death at 9.55 pm.
The cause of death was later determined to be blunt force trauma to the head.
Robert Poe arrested in connection to his mother's death
Robert has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
During questioning by deputies, he stated that he believed his deceased mother was a vampire because she would poke him at night, causing him to wake up with blood on his sheets.
Robert is currently being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on March 20.
It is noteworthy that Robert has previously faced multiple accusations and arrests dating back to 1986. These charges include possession of methamphetamine, theft, driving under the influence (DUI), harassment, and driving without insurance.
