LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lopez's promotional tactics for the 2015 film 'The Boy Next Door' are under scrutiny as allegations emerge that she urged her co-star, Ryan Guzman, to pretend he was single to generate buzz for the movie, reported by Page Six.

Guzman's ex-girlfriend, Melanie Iglesias, recently made these claims on the 'No Chaser' podcast, shedding light on the behind-the-scenes dynamics during the film's promotion.

Jennifer Lopez allegedly encouraged co-star Ryan Guzman to pretend he was single

Iglesias, a Maxim model, asserted that, "She made my ex, oh my God, pretend that he was single to promote the movie,” the Maxim model alleged in a recent episode of the 'No Chaser' podcast.

“The publicists, both of them, called me … so they were at afterparties together, like, holding hands and stuff to promote this,” he said.

The allegations gain traction considering reports from the time of the movie's release, which described Lopez and Guzman cozying up to each other at a Golden Globes afterparty. Iglesias's account aligns with these reports, painting a picture of orchestrated PR tactics to enhance the film's allure.

“At one point, Ryan moved back on the couch and then he put his arm around Jennifer,” an insider claimed at the time, adding, “They also left together."

One particularly notable incident Iglesias highlighted was Lopez's appearance on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show,' when she was asked about if Guzman had a girlfriend in real life. Ellen DeGeneres asks the singer whether there was “anything going on” between her and the hunky actor, to which she says “no.”

However, Lopez responded when asked whether Guzman had a girlfriend at the time, “I think he might? I’m not sure. I know he did.… I’m not in his business like that.”

The pop icon played coy, leaving room for speculation about their off-screen chemistry. “We’ve met,” said Iglesias on 'No Chaser,' pointing out that Lopez should have confirmed Guzman was indeed taken.

“We friggin’ met. What do you mean you don’t know if he had a girlfriend? We met. You squeezed the s–t out of my hand. I’m still black and blue,” he said.

Even though Iglesias did not name Guzman, The Texas-born actor dated and walked red carpets with Lopez, 54, when he was doing press junkets for their film.

"I've never liked her but couldn't figure out why. Now, every new thing I learn about her just reinforces that I should trust my gut!" remarked one user.

Another user expressed skepticism about Lopez's intentions, stating, "We all know that Lopez would, and will go LO for anyone to get ahead."

Another user criticized Lopez saying, "Can this woman be any more manipulating of others? She is despicable & showing her desperation. Take you $20 million loss & go away. We don't care, Jenny 'from the block'....sheesh. no talent artist is what she is. "

The other user wrote, "If it wasn’t for auto tune, this phony, no talent egomaniac wouldn’t have a career."
