CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Sabrina Carpenter is under fire after a Ticketmaster fiasco left fans feeling cheated during her Chicago stop on the Short n' Sweet tour.

The 24-year-old singer and actress, currently on the road promoting her latest album, has been grappling with upset fans and critics alike, both on and off the stage.

Fans furious after $200 tickets lead to nonexistent seats and makeshift chairs

According to Radar Online, one TikTok user, Kelsey, shared her frustrating experience after paying $200 for a presale ticket to see Carpenter perform at the United Center Arena.

Despite the high price, Kelsey and other attendees were left with a disappointing view when they arrived at their designated section - only to find that the seats they paid for didn’t even exist.

“When she and others tried to sit in the section listed on their tickets, venue staff acted quickly after realizing there were no more seats available — rushing out portable chairs in a 'makeshift' manner,” Radar Online reported.

Kelsey took to TikTok to show her laughable view from the folding chairs and express her disappointment.

"When Ticketmaster sells you seats that don't even exist so they bring you folding chairs??? Sabrina girl plz help," she wrote.

She even directly appealed to the singer, "@Sabrina Carpenter please please please we paid $200 what on earth I'm so sad."

When another user asked whether her ticket listed where her seats were supposed to be, Kelsey clarified, "The chart didn't show us this. Also we bought numbered seats. They had to bring us folding chairs therefore our seats weren't even real to begin with."

On the other hand, a particular viewer expressed on Daily Mail, "I'd be furious if I had to pay $200 in the first place."

Following suit, another observer added, "It’s all one big rip off now, wouldn’t pay to watch someone live as they’re just trying to make as much money as they can."

Additionally, a viewer pointed out, "Says it all about her career: Sweet and Short."

A follower contributed, "THE BEST SEATS WOULD BE THE ONES WERE YOU CANT SEE THE STAGE AT ALL X".

A comment underscored, "Anyone who pays 200 to watch someone lipsyncing to backing tracks and dance around needs their heads checking."

Another comment echoed, "I've seen Tickemaster selling front row seats to some acts for $2000 or more. Thats so obnoxious i can't even begin to consider it being real but it is. Concerts are the primary income now not song sales."

An individual elaborated further, saying, "I'm sure she knew those seats did not exist also. but I guess if you're dumb enough to spend $200 to see her and then it's your own fault."

As outrage over the botched seating situation spread on social media, it became just another issue in a string of challenges Sabrina Carpenter has faced during her tour.

Sabrina Carpenter claps back at critics

Since launching her Short n' Sweet tour, Carpenter has also been dealing with criticism regarding her performances and stage presence.

Earlier this month, she addressed backlash from parents who felt her show was “oversexualized.”

In response to their concerns, Carpenter didn’t hold back, telling critics: “You’ll still get the occasional mother that has a strong opinion on how you should be dressing. And to that I just say, don’t come to the show and that’s okay.”

The singer has also had to defend herself against accusations of lip-syncing during her performances.

Reportedly, one TikTok user questioned if she “ever sings live” after sharing a video from one of her shows.

Another user fueled the speculation, posting, "Hate to say it but 30% lip singing 30% backing track 40% singing."

Carpenter quickly jumped into the comments to clear the air: “I sing live every show 100% would you like to speak to my audio engineers.”

Sabrina Carpenter's involvement in NYC controversy

Amid the criticism and Ticketmaster chaos, Carpenter made headlines for a different reason after her performance at Madison Square Garden.

During her set, she humorously addressed her unexpected connection to New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ federal corruption investigation.

“Should we talk about how I got the mayor indicted?” Carpenter joked to the crowd, marking the first time she publicly acknowledged the controversy.

The incident stems from the filming of her "Feather" music video at a Brooklyn church, which outraged The Brooklyn Diocese and led to the demotion of Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello, who had approved the shoot.

The church’s decision to allow the video, which featured gory and graphic content, sparked an internal investigation that eventually caught the attention of federal authorities.

The investigation led to a subpoena requesting information on Gigantiello's financial dealings with Frank Carone, Mayor Eric Adams' former chief of staff, tying Carpenter to the scandal in an unexpected way.
