Rod Stewart opens up on mortality as he believes his 'days are numbered’ months ahead of 80th birthday
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sir Rod Stewart knows his “days are numbered” but refuses to get cowered by the fear of death.
The 79-year-old rockstar recently shared the philosophy of his life during an interview with The US Sun on Friday, July 26.
The musician revealed that he is determined to spend his twilight years in style and enjoy his life to the fullest.

The British singer opened up about his philosophy with the outlet on Friday, saying, “We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket,” Stewart told The US Sun on Friday.
“I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say few — probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.”
However, he also acknowledged that he is determined to maintain his rock star lifestyle, he can’t go as fast as he used to like in young days.
Stewart mourned, “I’m not like I was in the ’70s and ’80s and I can’t stay up all night, get drunk and go mad and still have a voice just like that.”
Just a year shy of 80, the ‘Maggie May’ rocker shared that he has to take care extra care of his voice as well.
“Nowadays I have to protect my voice before and after every show,” Stewart said, before adding poignantly, “the older you get, the more you have to do that.”
He explained, “Water has a hell of a lot to do with it. But no, you think I just have water on my rider? You’re talking to Rod Stewart here, mate. We go mad after every show.”
The musician, who was a part of the music group Faces from 1975 to 2021, continued, “There are 13 of us, six women, really great musicians and I make them drink. We absolutely love it.”
Stewart, who has previously suffered from both prostate and thyroid cancer, further added, “I am more aware of my health now than before.”
He continued, “You should be when you start getting on a bit. It’s very important. I am a bit of a hypochondriac. I think men in particular should take advantage of all the wonderful medical science out there.”
He then revealed his preference to have his blood cleaned, saying, “When I come back to the UK I am going to have my blood cleaned as I’ve been told it is a real boost to the system.”
Nevertheless, the ‘Young Turks’ singer proudly declared that he is not on any medications.
“I’m not on any pills. No nothing. You’ve got to remember I’ve been doing this all my life — I don’t suffer after a show,” Stewart said before adding, “Sometimes I take an anti-inflammatory if my knee is playing up but very rarely. I don’t need pills.”

Stewart, who is married to his wife Lady Stewart, Penny Lancaster for 17 years, recently shared the secret begind the success of their marriage in a recent interview with Hello! Magazine.
The couple who shares two sons - Alastair, 18, and Aiden, 13 together - sat for the joint interview as they gushed about their relationship.
In that interview, Stewart opened up about his career as well, saying, "I don't see any possibility of slowing down anytime soon," before adding, "And as I get older, I only really want to do things that give me great pleasure."
His wife added, "He loves what he does so much and will never retire," before continuing, "He's a workaholic and constantly on the move. I struggle to keep up with his training schedule. He works out three or four times a week – even on tour."
When they were asked what made their relationship so special, Stewart replied, "We love life and make date nights for one another, among touring and family time," before explaining, "We listen to each other and try to resolve all our disagreements, the dirty laundry as Penny says, right away, and before we go to bed."
Even Lancaster added, "You need a healthy attraction. Rod and I can have dinner in a crowded room or just the two of us – we always have eyes for each other. There's this look, this connection, this message without words."
