SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH: Hulu series 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' star Whitney Leavitt has defended her "disgusting" choice to put a used pregnancy test inside a cake in order to reveal her pregnancy to her family.

The 'Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' actress inserted her positive test result into a cake. The moment, which can be seen in the Hulu docuseries, depicted her family's surprise and mild disapproval of the act.

The latest act took place after Leavitt opened up about being portrayed as the antagonist in the Hulu series, criticizing the show's editing, and claimed that one of her coworkers was "sabotaging" her on camera, per Daily Mail.

Whitney Leavitt, 31, decided to inform her family of her third pregnancy on an episode of the show by giving them a cake that contained her used pregnancy test.

During a conversation with The Cut, Leavitt was questioned if her family consumed the cake containing the used pregnancy test.

She replied, "Oh, of course we did! We all definitely ate the cake," before insisting, "I put the lid back on it. Cloroxed the heck out of it before putting it in the cake. It was clean."

"I get how people were like, "Ew." Maybe people tried to stay away and not eat the pieces surrounding the test, but that cake was good. So yeah, we did eat the cake," Leavitt added.

Leavitt and her spouse, Conner Leavitt, are parents to son Liam and daughter Sedona, per TODAY.com.

One X (formerly Twitter) user expressed their disgust by posting the clip from the series with the caption: "I am actually FREAKING out that Whitney put her PEED-ON pregnancy test in this cake her family was going to eat. LIKE??? This lady cannot be real."

In an episode of 'Mormon Wives,' the family is seated around a table, asking if there was anything inside the cake as someone sliced it.

Leavitt's younger sister Lexi was shocked as she discovered the used test inside the cake. "Oh my God, that is disgusting. Why did you put that in the cake," Lexi exclaimed.

Leavitt confirmed in her Cut interview that it was the real test she took. As several "ews" were exchanged in the family scene, Leavitt returned and clarified, "There’s a lid on it," to explain her actions.

However, Lexi appeared repulsed, concerned that it might have germs and residue on it. Leavitt emphasized to the camera, "I guess I didn’t really think it fully, thoroughly, clearly, but the lid is on."

However, Leavitt revealed baby news earlier this year using a different cake. In April, she shared a cake-related video on Instagram with the caption, "coming this October 2024..."
