Flamboyant rapper Snoop Dogg has never tried to hide his contempt for former President Donald Trump as he has often ranted against the veteran politician. However, in a shocking U-turn, Snoop praised the Republican Presidential candidate saying he has “nothing but love and respect”. During an interview with London's The Sunday Times, Snoop praised Trump saying, “He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris,” before adding, “So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.”
2016: Snoop Dogg called Donald Trump 'reckless'
During an interview with Rolling Stone in 2016, Snoop criticized Trump's presidency saying, "How could we have someone as reckless as him running our country?” before adding, “I been around for a long time. I seen Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, Bushes, Clintons. And I never seen a motherf**ker like him.” In July of 2016, after the Republicans named Trump as their presidential candidate, Snoop said in an Instagram clip, “F**k you n**ga," per The Hill.
2017: 'Make America Crip Again'
In 2017, he dropped the artwork for his 'Make America Crip Again' where a corpse is bearing the tag with the name 'Trump', per Huff Post. He also sang in the song, "The president say he wants to Make America Great Again/ F**k that s**t, we gon' Make America Crip Again."
2017: Snoop Dogg called Trump 'clown'
In 2017, Snoop also released the remix of 'Lavender' by BADBADNOTGOOD. In the video of the song, which is about police brutality, he was seen shooting a clown dressed as Donald Trump. During an interview with Billboard later, he commented on the scene saying, "I feel like it’s a lot of people making cool records, having fun, partying, but nobody’s dealing with the real issue with this f**king clown as president, and the shit that we dealing with out here, so I wanted to take time out to push pause on a party record and make one of these records for the time being.”

During a March 2017 post on X (previously Twitter), the former President Trump reacted to Snoop's 'Lavender' video and wrote, "Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!"

In 2018, Snoop went on to slam the former President and his supporters saying, “He drew the lines,” before adding, “Before him, there were no lines. Everybody was everybody, we respected everything, we didn’t trip.” He said that Trump's supporters including Kanye West were condoning racism. He said, “Kanye too, n***a, don’t forget about him too — f*** you too!” before adding, “Throw him in the bag too because he’s right there with the motherf****rs," per The Hill.
2020: Snoop Dogg says he 'can’t stand to see this punk in office'
In 2020, he vented out his frustration against Trump and said earlier in the year that he was going to vote during the November 2020 election. He shared, “I ain’t never voted a day in my life, but this year I think Imma get out and vote because I can’t stand to see this punk in office one more year,” before adding, “For many years they had me brainwashed thinking that you couldn’t vote cause you had a criminal record. I didn’t know that. My record’s been expunged, so now I can vote," per Hip Hop DX.
2020: Snoop Dogg shares a long list of people Donald Trump allegedly 'disrespected'
Just before the 2020 election, Snoop shared a video on Instagram where he listed the people allegedly "disrespected" by Trump. He said in the video, “So, me and my homeboys sittin’ up here talkin’ about all the people that President Trump disrespected… Women, gays, transgenders, Blacks, Mexicans, Asians, and now veterans,” and added, “Hmmm. Seem like he’s disrespecting every color in the world and everything that ain’t what he is, which is a racist." He further added that those who voted for the president “got exactly what they wanted. He gave them what he said he was gonna give ’em," per Billboard.
