'So much CGI in the film': Rachel Zegler was 'nervous' while shooting 'Snow White' in the beginning
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rachel Zegler had some ‘intense’ time shooting for her musical ‘Snow White.'
The talented actress-singer, during Variety’s ‘Actors on Actors', talked about working with CGI characters on the set of Disney’s live-action flick.
'The Little Mermaid' agrees with Rachel Zegler's CGI experience
The star admitted that with lots of CGI in the film, she was ‘nervous’ in the beginning. Halle Bailey, who was the other star of the show, understood Rachel better than anyone else since she worked with several CGI co-stars in ‘The Little Mermaid.’
“This is an iconic thing that people really care about. I don’t want to mess this up for anybody, including myself. The writers and Marc Webb and our entire producing team…it’s a bit different story wise," she said about her upcoming flick.

“We were able to do ‘Whistle While You Work,’ which made me really happy and excited. I was really nervous more about the technical element. That first-look image went out… and there’s a lot of CGI in the film," she said.
Zegler added, “Most of that day was spent singing to nothing. I’m sure you also know how that can be. There was a lot of puppetry and CGI in post. It was really intense. There’s a lot of bloopers of me tossing a broom and letting it fall to the ground because that’s apparently how you toss things off to CGI characters. But it’s so much fun!”

Halle Bailey highlights dissociation between actors and audience
Earlier, Zegler, at the London premiere of ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’, answered on the public’s response to the CGI dwarves in ‘Snow White,’ with, “I’m just really excited to get to share that movie with everyone in March 2025. We’ve got a lot of magic up our sleeve.”
Meanwhile, Bailey also agreed about the challenges of being an actor, and when they have to deal with unnecessary controversies. “That’s what people don’t realize: We’re granted amazing opportunities and able to be seen on massive screens, but there is a dissociation," she said.

“People start taking you away from being a real human being that has feelings and reacts to things. That was definitely something that I had to navigate," she added.
However, Bailey felt, "It turned out to be the most beautiful lesson — to block any naysayers or negativity out. Also, I’m an Aries, so I’m a fire sign. People are like, “Oh, she’s so sweet. She’s so nice.” But a lot of times when I see stuff online, I get mad."
‘Snow White’ will hit theaters on March 21, 2025.
