NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Republican Senate Candidate Kari Lake of Arizona declined to commit to serving as former President Donald Trump's running mate when asked on Monday evening on ‘Jesse Watters Primetime.’

Speculation regarding Trump's potential running mate intensified following the withdrawal of Republican Gov Ron DeSantis from the primary race.

In response to Fox News host Jesse Watters' inquiry about accepting the vice-presidential slot on the ticket, Lake chose not to provide a direct answer.

Lake took to X, formerly known as Twitter to share her conversation with Watters as many people on the internet applauded the senator.

Kari Lake shares stance on potential vice presidential role in Trump admin

Kari Lake took to X and wrote, “We need to make sure that not only do we take back the White House, but we've got to have the majority in the Senate. That majority runs right through Arizona. If we don't have the majority in the Senate, can you imagine how hard it will be for President Trump to get things done?”

It continued, “Today's SCOTUS ruling proves we need to build the wall & secure the border ourselves. That's what I'm running for Senate to do.”

In the interview, Lake said, “I see myself in the Senate and helping America, to secure our border and make Arizona a safer and better place to live in the US Senate.”

“I’m here in New Hampshire right now helping President Trump and I really want to get him back in office, but I think we need to make sure, not only do we take back the White House, but we have got to have the majority in the Senate.”

Lake is running for the Senate seat currently held by Independent Senator Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona. Sinema is also contending with a challenge from Democratic Representative Ruben Gallego of Arizona.

“And this outrageous ruling by the Supreme Court just proves we need a law to build the wall and secure the border. We need a law to finally stop people from pouring across our border and destroying our country. That’s what I’m willing and able to do, and starting on day one I’m going to help President Trump do that.”

Thank you all for what you do. K💜.”
