WASHINGTON: According to a recent study, there may be a decline in favor of President Joe Biden among voters by the year 2024. In a hypothetical contest against Donald Trump, the former president would prevail by a significant margin.

According to an exclusive Wall Street Journal survey, if only those two candidates were running, Trump would defeat Biden by 4 percentage points, 47% to 43%. When five potential independent and third-party candidates are included, Trump leads Biden by 6%.

Notably, 17% of people would support all five of the contenders together.

Donald Trump leads as per recent data

Additionally, the poll revealed that 49% of respondents believe Trump's policies have benefited them, compared to only 23% who believe Biden's policies have done the same. People believe that Biden is more qualified to manage abortion and political tone, whereas Trump is more suited to deal with the economy, inflation, crime, border security, and the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Furthermore, with Trump leading him by 30% on the topic of border security, Biden appears to be struggling the most on this one.

“If this race is about policy and performance, then Donald Trump has a significant advantage. If this race is about temperament and character, things like that, then Biden has an advantage," Republican pollster Tony Fabrizio, who works for a Trump super PAC, told the Wall Street Journal.

Internet reacts to latest report

People on the internet seemed to disagree with the report which shows Donald Trump leading Joe Biden by 4% in pre-election. A user wrote, "The only polls you can trust are those you falsified yourself. These numbers mean nothing" while one commented, "Trump is bad for US and the world, but Biden is too old to give him a proper fight. Dems need a better candidate stat."

Another person added, "It is not a big lead and a lot can happen before the election. I'm more surprised that Trump's lead isn't bigger considering how much he's been seen in the media."

A user also wrote, "In reality no one is for Biden. They are just anti Trump. But also Trump is one of the worst possible options. Americans really need to grow up and choose better candidates."
