Timothee Chalamet talks to Jimmy Fallon about 'Wonka', spills beans on 'Barbie' cameo that never happened

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Timothee Chalamet recently graced 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' and brought an air of excitement as he delved into various intriguing discussions, offering insights into his new movie 'Wonka' and a cameo in 'Barbie' that never came to fruition.

The interview kicked off with Fallon commending Chalamet's stellar performance in 'Wonka' and delving into a candid discussion about his recent off-screen escapade, a casual basketball match with none other than Adam Sandler, who was once in talks to play Willy Wonka. 

He humorously reminisced about meeting Sandler years ago on a movie set, saying, "We met on a movie years ago, and I still went to the premiere even though I got cut. He was really nice and gave me a shoulder rub."

Chalament continued, "We played a game on Houston Street with some kids who went to my high school, and we got crushed! But hey, we want a rematch."

The conversation took an exciting turn as Fallon unveiled a surprise wooden box containing custom Nike Dunks designed by Chalamet for the movie 'Wonka'.

Chalamet revealed, "These are the Wonka Dunks! They're inspired by the five golden tickets from the original movie. I think sneakers are like the golden tickets of the modern world. You can't buy them, you have to win them."

The 'Dune' actor shared his enthusiasm for the creative process behind the shoe design, recalling his visit to the Nike campus in Oregon.

Chalamet shared, "It was like Willy Wonka's chocolate factory! They have buildings for LeBron James and Serena Williams, but actors are somewhere down here. It was still an incredible experience."

The conversation then shifted to the blockbuster film 'Barbie', with Chalamet confirming that he was originally supposed to have a cameo as a rejected Ken doll.

He said, "There was an idea for Saoirse Ronan and I to do cameos, but I don't know what mine would have been. Maybe a French reject Ken? I never got to see Greta on set, but I did hear about the amazing 'Barbie' set."
