Tom Holland reveals why he avoids walking red carpets with GF Zendaya: 'It's not my moment'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tom Holland has shared the reason he avoids walking red carpets with Zendaya despite their high-profile relationship.
The couple, known for their close bond, often avoids the spotlight when it comes to public appearances.
Tom Holland says walking together with Zendaya makes it 'about us'
Speaking to Men's Health, Tom Holland revealed his views on maintaining privacy, especially when attending events with Zendaya.
“It’s booked in advance, we sort it all out, we call ahead to the theater and make sure we can get somewhere private,” the actor said in the interview.
He also mentioned that public places, like hotel lounges, can sometimes make him uncomfortable due to the attention he attracts.
While Holland prefers to keep outings low-key, he makes exceptions for Zendaya.
He explained why he chooses not to walk red carpets alongside her, saying, “Because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment. And if we go together, it’s about us,” Holland said.
Tom Holland may join Zendaya for rare red carpet appearances
Tom Holland and Zendaya have shared red carpets only a handful of times, including premieres for their Marvel franchise films.
The couple walked the red carpet together twice for 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', once for 'Spider-Man: Far From Home', and twice for 'Spider-Man: Homecoming', as Teen Vogue noted.
It is anticipated the pair will likely make their next joint appearance in 2026 for Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' or the highly anticipated 'Spider-Man 4' which may come out in 2026.
Tom Holland recalls funny backflip incident with Zendaya
During the same interview, Tom Holland shared a lighthearted memory of practicing a backflip in front of Zendaya and his family in Cornwall, England.
Recounting the moment, he said, “So I went outside and I was getting ready, and I was thinking, I can do this. I can totally do this. I’ve done this thousands of times."
He added that Zendaya expressed concern about whether he could still do it. “And Z was there, and she was like, ‘Are you sure you can still do this?’”
Although Holland landed the flip successfully, he admitted he suffered afterward.
“I actually did land it, but I pulled every muscle in my stomach, because when you do a backflip, it’s all about extending up as much as you can and then tucking,” said Holland.
“For weeks, I could not laugh because my stomach was so sore," he revealed.
