TikToker Hannah Rose (@tishannahrose) was the one who accidentally gave birth to the "girl dinner" trend on TikTok as she uploaded a video of her favorite meal of cheese and bread. Soon it began to pick up and users around the world started to come up with their idea of small snacks that can be made by using random items from your pantry or fridge. As of now, #GirlDinner has just under three billion views on the social media app.
Roman Empire
Roman Empire trend is nothing but women asking men in their lives, "How often do you think about the Roman Empire?" and it turns out men frequently think about it, leaving women shocked. While the trend was born on Instagram, it soon moved to TikTok, and #RomanEmpire has since gained about 3 billion views.
McDonald's Grimace Shake
McDonald's launched the Grimace Shake, which is purple, to celebrate the 52nd birthday of the character Grimace. But TikTokers took it to another level by creating spooky short films out of it. In most instances, creators were seen drinking the shake and wishing the character happy birthday before there was a cut. Subsequently, the person who drank the shake was seen lying on the ground with the beverage coming out of their mouth or some other quirky take that they could have thought of to add a touch of horror.
Wes Anderson trend
This trend is about making and recording your everyday life aesthetically beautiful, just like a Wes Anderson movie. The trend was started by creator Ava Williams, who took a train from Connecticut to New York in early April and shot it in Anderson's style, possibly pretending to be in one of his films. Subsequently, the #WesAnderson hashtag gained about 2.2 billion views on TikTok, making it one of 2023's biggest trends.
