'Trump gave himself a gag order': Jimmy Fallon takes a jab at ex-POTUS for canceling his second testimony
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: During the latest installment of 'The Tonight Show', Jimmy Fallon brought up how Donald Trump canceled his second testimony in the New York civil fraud trial at the last minute, citing that he has "nothing more to say."
Using his usual sarcastic jabs, the late-night host pointed out the irony in the ex-POTUS' decision, saying, "Basically, Trump gave himself a gag order."
Jimmy Fallon figures Donald Trump might explode 'like a self-driving Tesla' on Truth Social
During his monologue, Fallon noted, "Trump has nothing more to say? That's like offering Cookie Monster a cookie and hearing, "Me full." No, that's..."
He suggested that the ex-POTUS' decision not to speak in his civil fraud trial might lead to an explosion of thoughts and opinions on Truth Social, a social media platform associated with him.
"Yeah, Trump's decided not to speak, which means, tonight, he's going to explode on Truth Social like a -- like a self-driving Tesla," quipped Fallon.
The host asked the audience, "Do you know what I'm talking about? Yeah. Speaking of Trump, this weekend, he headlined the New York Young Republicans Gala, and he shared some thoughts on one of his lawyers. Watch the video."
In the clip, Trump was seen making a somewhat contradictory statement about one of his lawyers as he mentioned that she is a beautiful woman but claimed that he never thought or talked about beauty.
Despite asserting that beauty doesn't matter, he went on to acknowledge her beauty and emphasized her qualities as a great lawyer.
Fallon hilariously mimicked Trump, saying, "Trump's like, 'When I watch 'Beauty and the Beast,' I focus all my attention on the Beast'."
Donald Trump says that he has already 'testified to everything' for the civil fraud trial
According to NPR, former President Donald Trump has declared that he won't testify as scheduled in the civil trial regarding accusations of dishonesty about his wealth.
"I have already testified to everything & have nothing more to say," stated Trump on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, December 10.
Notably, his second appearance for the defense was scheduled for Monday.
New York Attorney General Letitia James, in a statement, asserted that whether or not Trump testifies again, they "have already demonstrated that he engaged in years of financial fraud and unjustly enriched himself."
In his announcement to skip the appearance, Trump criticized the New York Attorney General and labeled Judge Arthur Engoron, overseeing the case, as "biased."
As the leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination, Trump reiterated baseless assertions of the 2020 election being stolen, accusing President Joe Biden's campaign of "election interference."
He dismissed the case against him as a witch hunt despite facing separate federal charges of election interference.
