WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump is hitting back at United Auto Works (UAW) President Shawn Fain after he endorsed Biden and said the former President “has a history of serving himself and standing for the billionaire class.”

The business mogul and veteran republican leader took to his account on Truth Social and castigated the UAW President by arguing Fain does not “understand” the future of the automobile industry, per The Hill.

Donald Trump slams UAW President Shawn Fain

Earlier on Sunday, January 28, Fain criticized Trump in an interview with CBS News’ ‘Face the Nation’ by calling the former President a representative of the billionaire class.

In his post on Truth Social, Trump called out Fain and termed him a ‘STIFF’ who is helping sell the automobile industry “right into the big, powerful hands of China.”

Citing Fain’s support of Biden amidst the Governemt’s push toward electric vehicles, Trump wrote, “He [Fain] bought into Biden’s “vision” of all Electric Vehicles, which require far fewer workers to make each car but, more importantly, are not wanted in large numbers by the consumer, and will ALL be made in China.”

The 77-year-old former President pushed his ideology, saying, “I want them to be made in the USA, every type of car, and would require China, and other countries, through TARIFFS, or otherwise, to build plants here, with our workers.”

He continued, “Now they are building in Mexico, the biggest plants anywhere, and selling their cars, Tariff Free, into the good ol’ USA. Shawn Fain doesn’t understand this or have a clue. Get rid of this dope & vote for DJT. I will bring the Automobile Industry back to our Country.”

Shawn Fain has been critical of Donald Trump

Donald Trump’s criticism of Fain came at the heels of the UAW President’s multiple swipes at the ex-POTUS.

During his Sunday interview with ‘Face the Nation’, Fain praised President Biden for his support of the union members during their recent strike against the Big Three automakers.

Fain said, “When you look at these two candidates, you know, Joe Biden has a history of serving others, and serving the working class, and fighting for the working class, standing with the working class.”

Fain continued to shade Trump by saying, “Donald Trump has a history of serving himself and standing for the billionaire class. And that’s contrary to everything that working class people stand for.”

Internet reacts to Donald Trump's criticism of Shawn Fain

Trump's criticism of Fain received mixed reactions on the Internet.

A social media user said, "Lol, UAW won’t get rid of him. He gave them the biggest raise in decades!"

Another criticized Trump by saying, "He says this as he LOOKS in the mirror!!!!"

"No surprise. The Republicans have always tried to break unions," said someone else.

Another user, however, supported Trump by saying, "He needs to go. Enough already."

Someone else quipped, "Had he endorsed trump he would have been a brilliant man 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢."

"Jesus. Does he always have to whine every time someone chooses to endorse an opponent? Such a loser," said a user.

"Any blue collar, middle class worker that thinks Trump will make their life better if he's elected president isn't paying attention even a little. This dude wants the middle class gone leaving nothing but the ultra wealthy and serfs," criticized another user.
