Tyler Prince: Kentucky man charged with murder after requesting medical assistance for mother's 'fall'

ARLINGTON, KENTUCKY: According to the Kentucky State Police, a man from Carlisle County has been formally charged with murder following an inquiry conducted by KSP Post 1 in Mayfield.
Tyler Prince contacted 9-1-1 on Wednesday, January 10, requesting an ambulance for his mother, Jessica Gerth, stating that she had fallen in the home and required medical assistance, as reported by Clay County News.
Additional details concerning Gerth's death have come to light as part of the ongoing investigation.
How did Jessica Gerth die?
Upon the arrival of the police at Mercy Health Paducah, physicians observed multiple injuries on Jessica Gerth's body that seemed inconsistent with a fall.
They further reported that Gerth's injuries were severe, prompting her urgent transfer to a trauma center in Tennessee, where she was listed in critical condition.
Meanwhile, due to the suspicious circumstances, Kentucky State Police were contacted and initiated an investigation.
Notably, the inquiry involved interviews with other members of Gerth's household.
On Friday, January 12, investigators from the Kentucky State Police were informed that Jessica Gerth's condition had rapidly deteriorated, leading to her succumbing to her injuries.

In the preliminary inquiry, 20-year-old Tyler Prince faced initial charges of first-degree domestic violence assault.
Prince was detained in the Ballard County Jail. Subsequently, following Jessica Gerth's demise due to her injuries, Prince was additionally charged with domestic violence murder.
On Thursday, January 18, a detective from the Kentucky State Police provided testimony before a Carlisle County Grand Jury.
The Grand Jury, after deliberation, opted to indict Tyler Prince on both charges, leading to his continued detention in the Ballard County Jail.
Prince is presently detained on a $250,000 bond, and his next scheduled court appearance is set for March 7, 2024, as per Kentucky Today.
