Visha Franklin: Woman charged with attempt to murder for shooting good Samaritan helping at accident site
CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA: A woman, who was involved in an accident in North Carolina, shot and injured a bystander who had offered assistance.
The suspect ranted about God, a gun, and a knife while being naked after stripping down, a witness reportedly told the authorities.
According to a news release from the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, Visha Franklin, 41, was taken into custody in relation to the shooting that resulted in an unidentified 40-year-old woman being hospitalized in stable condition after suffering a gunshot wound to the face.

The shooting took place on Tuesday, March 19. The Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at 5:16 pm reporting a car crash and a woman suffering a gunshot wound in the 4800 block of Matt Hair Road in Fayetteville.
When the victim saw the car crash and slowed to help, Franklin allegedly fired multiple shots into her vehicle, striking the woman, according to police reports.
As Franklin veered through a front yard, crossed a road, and struck two trees, she crashed, according to a state Highway Patrol sergeant who spoke with The Fayetteville Observer.
Franklin was taken into the Cumberland County Detention Center without being given a bond.
Visha Franklin faces several charges
According to authorities, Visha Franklin has been charged with four counts of firing a weapon into occupied property, assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill and serious injury, and attempted first-degree murder.
Witnesses described the chaos to Raleigh, North Carolina’s NBC affiliate WRAL-TV.
“She had stripped down butt naked and piled her clothes and looked at one firefighter and told him, ‘Take your glasses off and look me in the eyes. I’m God,'” one witness told the station.
Franklin allegedly said, "All kinds of stuff, like 'Lord Jesus, give her a gun,'" according to another witness. The news outlet reported that the witness stated, "Then she was hollering and screaming."
Local CBS affiliate WNCN was informed by a witness about the suspect's actions following the shooting.
“She was waving the gun in the air with the slide back so you could tell it was empty,” the witness said, as per the outlet. “She was yelling, ‘Just run me over.'”
Online court records indicate that Franklin is scheduled to appear in court on April 9.
