LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jesse Watters, a familiar face on Fox News known for his staunch support of former President Donald Trump, found himself in an unexpected position recently when his own colleagues fact-checked him live on air.

During a segment on Wednesday's episode of 'The Five', Watters launched into a tirade about Trump's legal troubles, particularly focusing on his involvement in the hush-money case.

Jesse Watters' dramatic analogy meets pushback

Comparing Trump's courtroom appearances to being trapped in a cage, Watters lamented, "They trapped him in a cage. We call it a courtroom but it’s a cage and he’s like King Kong." He went on to complain that Trump was being treated unfairly by the media, likening him to a "zoo creature" surrounded by reporters.

However, Watters' dramatic analogy didn't go unchallenged. Co-host Harold Ford Jr interjected with a sobering reminder, stating, "They killed King Kong." This unexpected reality check prompted laughter from the panelists, including Jeanine Pirro and Tyrus, as co-host Dana Perino chuckled along.

Caught off guard, Watters sheepishly admitted, "I don’t think I saw the end of that movie," before joining in the laughter at his own expense.

Internet trolls take aim at Jesse Watters

Following Jesse Watters' eyebrow-raising comments on Fox News regarding Donald Trump's legal troubles, the internet wasted no time in unleashing a barrage of trolling aimed squarely at the conservative commentator.

As Jesse Watters, a prominent figure on Fox News, aired his grievances about Donald Trump's ongoing legal battles, social media lit up with commentary from amused, critical, and downright puzzled viewers.

One user wrote, "Watters really thinks he's the sharpest tool in the shed but kudos for Harold for checking him on that."

Another added, "Watters is getting paid lots of BIG money to shill for Don. Carrying Don's water $$ - total tool Pecker just crushed Don for all his schemes. Watters is going to have to step it up. Saying Don is trapped sitting all day very uncomfortably isn't going to work."

One user replied, "Jesse isn’t taking this whole trial thing very well, is he?"

One user said, "Jesse Watters is like the newscaster in a turn-of-the-century remake of an ‘80’s dystopian sci-fi movie."

Another user commented, "I absolutely can not come up with a word awful enough to describe Watters."

One wrote, "Jesse Watters thinks King Kong is an historical figure."
