LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jimmy Kimmel humorously bid adieu to George Santos after his unexpected expulsion from Congress.

On Friday, December 1, the House cast a vote resulting in the Republican's ouster, making him the sixth House member to ever face expulsion and the first in over two decades.

Despite Santos having to vacate his office, his congressional staff will remain operational. As per the House rules, in the event of a member’s death, resignation, or expulsion, the House clerk is tasked with overseeing the staff and managing the office until a replacement is elected.

The current clerk, Kevin McCumber, is granted the power to employ or dismiss staff members for the office, subject to the approval of the House Administration Committee, as reported by NBC News.

Known for his knack for political humor, Kimmel seized the opportunity to get in a few punches as he bid farewell to the representative.

After reading out the update about George Santos' Congress expulsion, Kimmel said, "Back to stealing puppies from the Amish, I guess. I don't know - the house maintenance crew wasted no time changing the locks to his office. How funny it would be if they open that door today and 100 purses came tumbling out..."

The host continued, "And while it's confusing as to why they would have to change the locks on an office he can't go into anymore, apparently even though he's been expelled - this is crazy - legally he still has access to the house floor, the dining room, the cloakroom, and the gym which - that won't be awkward at all! You vote him out, you're still showering with him."

"George Santos is basically an ex who still has the key to our apartment," Kimmel quipped.

The host continued by sharing an "interesting fact" about Congressman Joe Wilson from South Carolina, who is known for shouting "you lie" at President Obama during the State of the Union Address. Interestingly, he voted against the expulsion of George Santos.

The host quipped, "I guess his position on lying has evolved."

Kimmel pointed out that in the 234-year history of the House of Representatives, George Santos is only the sixth member to have ever been expelled.

The last Congressman to face this fate was Democrat J James Traficant from Ohio, who was expelled back in 2002.

The host said, "So Santos is in very good company. How long before George Santos is on our reality show 'Big Brother' and the 'Masked Singer'. They got to be fighting over the sky like Nike and Adidas trying to sign Michael Jordan."

"But for now at least he's out of a job and we had to fire two of our writers too. They have nothing to do now but we had honestly grown quite fond of George Santos' Shenanigans and he will be missed. He'll be missed but he will not ever be forgotten."

The show transitioned into a montage featuring clips of George Santos, all set against the backdrop of melodious lyrics.

"I feel like we haven't seen the last of him," Kimmel said after the video.
