'What a creep': Texas Democratic candidate Taral Patel slammed as he faces charges for fabricating racist comments directed at himself

AUSTIN, TEXAS: A Texas political candidate has been taken into custody on accusations of sending himself fake hate messages on social media.

Taral Patel, the Democratic nominee for Fort Bend Precinct 3 Commissioner, was apprehended by the Texas Rangers and faces charges of Online Impersonation and Misrepresentation of Identity.

Taral Patel is under investigation

It is alleged that for months, Patel directed a series of racist and derogatory remarks at himself, posing as a supporter of the incumbent Republican Commissioner Andy Meyers, Fox News Digital reports.

The investigation into Patel began in October 2023, following a request from Meyers to determine the source of the hostile comments directed at Patel.

Previously, Patel had shared a collection of hateful comments, purportedly from Meyers' supporters, asserting that these messages reflected a "profound and misplaced fear" within the Republican Party.

"As your Democratic candidate for County Commissioner, I am always open to criticism of my policy positions and stances on issues," in a Facebook post from September 2023, Patel stated.

"However, when my Republican opponents supporters' decide to hurl racist, anti-immigrant, Hinduphobic, or otherwise disgusting insults at my family, faith community, colleagues, and me - that crosses a line."

Taral Patel used fake profile picture without permission

Law enforcement has reported that Patel utilized a photograph of an actual Fort Bend resident for his profile picture without obtaining the individual's permission.

In response to Patel's arrest, Bobby Eberle, the Chairman of the Fort Bend County Republican Party, issued a statement describing the situation as "deeply concerning."

"Whether Republican or Democrat, such tactics should be unequivocally condemned by all who value integrity and accountability in politics," Eberle said.

He further added, "This is not a partisan issue, and the good people of Fort Bend County should be able to trust that when allegations are made, they are sincere."

 "Fort Bend County residents deserve better leadership than someone who will create a fake account and post manufactured racist attacks — attempting to turn neighbor against neighbor — for political gain," he concluded.

Taral Patel slammed by social media user 

As soon as the news surfaced Facebook, users started reacting to it. A user wrote, "Always playing the victim...even when they do it to themselves...lol."

Another user added, "Proving once again how dumb the Dem's are." The third commentator wrote, "That really is all they have. So much so, they have to slur themselves."

"They do this all the time, lol. Pathetic," one said. A person demanded, "No less than 5 years in prison."

"What a creep," a Facebook user slammed.
