LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Will Smith isn’t giving up over a series of failures after Oscars slapgate incident.

The ‘After Earth’ star is now knocking again at the box office with his latest flick 'Bad Boys: Ride or Die' along with Martin Lawrence.

Will Smith is aiming to return at the top with his latest movie

Smith slapped Chris Rock for making a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith two years ago and was criticized globally for his action.

"Bad Boys is not a risk. It's a good piece to see him soar. A talent as ambitious and financially successful as Will does not go away with one mistake," a source told People.

"He needs to keep box-office success alive," the source added.

Another insider shared that if 'Bad Boys: Ride or Die' "does well" then Smith "should be back on top and looking good for other films he is involved with and working on."

This means, projects like  ‘I Am Legend’ sequel with Michael B Jordan may do better.

A source close to Smith said, “[He’s] ready for more of an impact with his work after laying low" after the Oscars incident.

“He will always be a private guy in his personal life but loves the attention on the big screen. He is hoping for box-office magic with this film and a bright future with all he has going," the source added.

In one of the press conferences, Smith thanked Sony Pictures Entertainment executive. “Tom Rothman is a real-life ride or die. Tom Rothman was messing with me when nobody was messing with me. That is my dude," said Smith.

In ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die,’ Smith returns as Miami detective Mike Lowrey.

Internet divided over supporting Will Smith after Oscars fiasco

Netizens shared their honest opinion on Will Smith's career.

One person said, "Talent may never go away, but image is everything. Will built a career on a good guy character that he obliviated with a slap and obscene tirade on live tv."

"Will Smith will be just fine, lol. His career and this movie will both be successful. None of the lies that people insist on spreading about his life, his wife, or his marriage matter," another shared.

A fan wrote, "He was absolutely amazing in 'I AM LEGEND.' Very few actors can carry a film practically on their own. Just hope he is in a better headspace. And actually remorseful for the right reasons."

"Respect is something difficult to earn and easy to lose. Violence is never the answer but that he chose it to defend a woman who’s publicly humiliated him and disrespected him so epically, I can barely look at him," another chimed.

A user wrote, "Talent won’t go away but I can’t unsee what he did and look at him the same as a person…"

"True fans will still support, going to see the new movie today. ❤️💝" another said.
