CLEVELAND, OHIO: After concluding his impressive 13-season NFL career, Jason Kelce is gearing up for a new chapter. In a recent installment of the 'New Heights' podcast, Jason shared with his brother Travis his intention to embark on a journey of self-discovery. This involves shedding some weight and delving into fresh hobbies as he transitions away from the football field.

On the 4th of March, Monday, the ex-Eagles center conducted a press conference to formally declare his retirement from the sport. In a poignant address, the 36-year-old conveyed his gratitude and reflected on the cherished memories from his time as a player.

Jason Kelce reveals his plans post-retirement

During the episode of the 'New Heights podcast' on Wednesday, March 6, Jason told his brother Travis about his post-retirement plans. He disclosed his intention to shed weight and focus on improving his fitness now that his responsibilities as a center are behind him.

He said, "I'm gonna slim down," adding, "My goal is 250 [lbs]. This last week, I got down to 285 cause I knew I was doing this. And then I had cake for three days in a row."

Jason added, "I don't personally subscribe to doing extreme diets like going all the way vegan or all the way carnivore or keto, my man Joe Thomas lost a bunch of weight [and] he's all keto. And I'm like, 'Dude more power to you,' but f**k no, I'm not doing that. He looks fantastic, but it's not worth, to me, doing that."

Jason wished to take small baby steps for his weight loss. He said, "I downloaded MyFitnessPal and just started tracking calories. I feel like as long as I maintain my protein intake, so I keep my muscle and just kind of limit the calories, you'll start to lose weight, that's the plan."

Jason wished to learn new skills in housework

In addition to setting new fitness goals, Jason pledged to acquire new skills and contribute to household tasks. He commended his wife, Kylie Kelce, for her wiring abilities and expressed a keen interest in mastering the craft of knife-making.

He said, "I'm looking forward to do something that's not football,'' adding, "I've been so committed to the sport for so long, it's embarrassing when your wife knows how to do more housework. Her dad is an electrician, she can fish a wire."

Expanding on the topic, Travis questioned Jason's perceived inability to fish a wire, asserting that he had successfully tackled the task himself when repairing his speakers.

Jason chimed saying, "I'm talking about in walls she could put in a new outlet if she wanted to." To this, Travis answered, "Shout out to Kylie for being the handyman around the hose. I like the TV show forged in fire and I want to go to a blacksmith and make a knife, that'd be fun."

Travis later suggested, "Count me in on that one, don't do that without me. I'm gonna make a sword."

"A sword is a whole other undertaking, I don't know we are good enough to make a sword," Jason responded.

Internet reacts to Jason's post-retirement plans

While many social media users helped Jason with their weight loss tips, some even showed concerns. A user wrote on X, "He's gonna have to make a major lifestyle change."

Another user said, "I lost 135 lbs 20 years ago after my second baby and a blood clot in my clad. I was overweight my whole life. Looking at my kids I decided life was better than escaping reality with food. Eat less, move more. That’s literally what you need to do. Self control."

A user said, "Most lineman do when theyre off their "strength enhancers." Another user gave a tip, "Water, black coffee, exercise, eat in moderation, and hot sauce."

A user however had something different to say, he wrote, "On the contrary I think he’ll gain 300 pounds and start sumo wrestling." While another user said, "He won't have the same charm sadly."
