VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA: Tamara Lynn Sytch, the 50-year-old former WWE star who is better known by her stage name Sunny, has been sentenced to more than 17 and a half years in prison in connection to a DUI car crash that took place in 2022. The accident resulted in the death of Julian Lafrancis Lasseter, 75.

In addition to her prison sentence, Sytch will also serve a probation period of eight years after her release. However, Judge Karen A Foxman gave her 566 days credit for time served in prison.

Sytch had pleaded no contest to DUI manslaughter, four counts of DUI with damage to person, and two counts of DUI with damage to property on August 26, reported People.

Tammy Sytch was previously arrested for six DUIs in multiple states

Her arrest in the latest case on May 2022 was only four months after she was released from an eight-month stint in prison for a previous DUI.

The sixth DUI against Sytch was in 2019 when she was arrested for allegedly driving in the wrong direction on a one-way street with a suspended license.

Tammy Sytch's last DUI accident

On the evening of March 25, 2022, Sytch was driving south on United States Highway 1 when she crashed her Mercedes into a vehicle that was sitting at a traffic light. The car that was hit then collided with the vehicle in front of it, which was stationary as well.

Lasseter, who was driving the second vehicle, died at the scene, while the occupants of the third vehicle were treated for minor injuries. Sytch herself was hospitalized and released.

Sytch is widely considered to be the first WWE "Diva" and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.

Internet reacts to WWE star's arrest

Netizens slammed Sytch for her actions on social media and said she "deserved" the sentence.

"Wow... She's gotta serve the whole thing.... No concurrency to the sentence at all... That judge is awesome. Looks good on her. She deserves every single day she's locked up," posted a user on X.

"Too easy on her. She murdered a man," commented a second.

"Feels like a lenient sentence given she's a repeat DUI offender who was unlicensed while driving, and killed someone. She's very lucky," echoed a third.

"Hopefully wwe removes her from the hall of fame," wrote a user.

"Judge launched the book at her," said a fifth along with a GIF.
