Maryse Mizanin reveals how her rare pre-cancer of the ovaries was found

Sharing a picture of herself, Mizanin shared the beginning symptoms of her condition as she said, "I had been suffering from severe abdominal distention and swelling to the point where I would look 6 months pregnant."

"Lots of GI issues, including sibo, multiple rounds of antibiotics, extreme fatigue, and just wasn’t feeling like myself! For the past year, my symptoms would come in flare-ups and it progressively got worse – it became chronic."

The 'Miz and Mrs' star said she visited "countless doctors in different fields but no diagnosis" or a proper explanation for her symptoms.

Taking numerous tests including endoscopy, colonoscopy, CT scans, ultrasounds, MRIs, blood tests, and various other tests, Mizanin was advised her issues were "probably hormonal."

"I was told to let it go – that it would figure itself out with time. That I’m just too impatient and making myself crazy over this! I would just not quit trying to figure it out!" she wrote.

Maryse Mizanin calls her gynecologist a 'superhero'

The pro wrestler struggled to receive a definitive diagnosis until she met Dr Thais Aliabadi, a Los Angeles-based OB/GYN whom she called a "superhero," someone who "truly listened" to her.

Believing Mizanin might have endometriosis, her doctor performed laparoscopy on her.

However, Aliabadi discovered and subsequently removed 11 pre-cancerous tumors "around my uterus, ovaries, and all connective tissues around the organs in my abdominal cavity."

"All 11 implants came back as Serous Borderline Tumors. A very rare pre-cancer of the ovaries. Very sneaky and aggressive,” Mizanin explained.

"If those become cancer, the survival rate is less than a year," she noted.

“So what happens next? I am scheduled for total hysterectomy surgery in 4 weeks. My uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, and omentum will be removed, and will get abdominal lymph nodes removed for staging."

"I’m remaining positive and determined to beat this thing. There is only one option and it’s winning this battle! As a mom of two young daughters, I have to," wrote Mizanin, who is mom to daughters Monroe Sky and Madison Jade, according to People.
