WASHINGTON: Ron DeSantis' constant shifting of positions on Ukraine is not sitting well with Tucker Carlson. He attributes the Governor's vacillation to his desire to appease a supporter who has already given him money.

Tucker Carlson criticized Ron DeSantis on Monday, December 18, claiming that Ken Griffin had "told him to change his view on Ukraine from 'It's a regional conflict we shouldn't get involved in' to 'It's a super important thing.' We ought to send extra cash."

It's important to note that Griffin and DeSantis have strained relations despite Griffin's support for DeSantis' reelection campaign and encouragement to run for president in recent months.

“One donor got him to change his view and all these so-called conservatives are supporting that. Like, it’s the most important thing ever, like who are these people and what is their problem? Like, what is going on with them?” Carlson claimed.

Although it's unclear to whom Carlson was explicitly referencing, he began his outburst on Ukraine by denouncing, "the people who represent him online” as “the nastiest, the stupidest, and the most zero-sum people I’ve ever seen in my life."

In an apparent attempt to win over the now-former Fox News presenter, DeSantis first labeled the conflict a “territorial dispute” rather than one of America’s “vital national interests” in a statement given to Tucker Carlson.

Internet mocks Tucker Carlson

Tucker's comment on Ron DeSantis' influencers was not taken well by many people on the internet and they ended up criticizing him.

A user wrote, "This is an embarrassing take from Tucker when Team Trump has AB35k, Loomer, and Dilley as “online influencers,” whereas one added, "In which Tucker ignores the Trump surrogates constantly calling women the C word and Loomer telling lies about Casey's cancer. Zero credibility."

Another person added, "Tucker is doing what Tucker does best, lie! He is lying to his audience of Trump supporters," while one mentioned, "This whole issue seems very online I wonder what % of voters give a shit about the tweets of the respective campaigns."
