WASHINGTON, DC: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is making headlines not just for her politics. She recently showcased a surprising skill when she helped a congressional staffer with a car problem, gaining admiration from fans and colleagues alike.

The now-viral image of Ocasio-Cortez assisting in jump-starting a car battery outside the US Capitol has become a symbol of her hands-on approach to public service, as per HuffPost.

The congresswoman is widely known for her outspoken political stance, but it was this simple act of kindness that captured the hearts of many across the internet.

A snapshot of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez surfaced on social media on Wednesday, September 11, showing her in action—this time not in Congress, but in a parking lot.

The viral photo was shared by her chief of staff, Mike Casca, and it shows the congresswoman applying a portable charger to the battery of a car belonging to congressional staffer Evan Hollander.

Two Capitol Police officers, alongside Hollander himself, looked on as Ocasio-Cortez worked to jump-start the vehicle.

Hollander, a staff assistant and driver for Representative John Larson, was clearly in a bind when his car battery died just outside the US Capitol.

He admitted he wasn’t familiar with how to use his jump-starter, leading to an unexpected helping hand from Ocasio-Cortez.

"I was very starstruck and so thankful for her help!" Hollander shared in a newsletter published by NOTUS, a Washington-based outlet from the Allbritton Journalism Institute.

He explained that he was preparing to drive Larson after the congressman had finished voting but was caught off guard by the dead battery and his unfamiliarity with the equipment.

Larson himself took to social media to express his appreciation for Ocasio-Cortez’s help.

He humorously remarked, "Congress is a hands-on job!" in a post that quickly garnered attention.

It wasn’t long before Ocasio-Cortez responded, downplaying her efforts and suggesting it was just a common act of kindness.

"We’ve all needed a jump at some point! Happy to lend a hand," she replied on social media.
