LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ali Fedotowsky and her husband Kevin Manno have revealed his ongoing battle with cancer, a diagnosis that came as a complete surprise.

“The crazy thing is he had absolutely ZERO symptoms and his blood work came back perfect,” Fedotowsky, 40, wrote via Instagram on January 29.

Kevin Manno's journey to diagnosis

In the video, Ali Fedotowsky explained how Kevin Manno's doctor helped in their journey of diagnosis.

“So we thought it was important to share his story. We can’t stress enough how important it is to have a doctor [who] pays attention to your charts, and of course, paying attention to your own charts and follow-ups! Which we didn’t. Thank goodness our doctor did,” she shared.

Earlier this month, the couple confirmed that Manno, 41, had been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer, which they noted is “very treatable.”

“Kevin had no symptoms [and] still has no symptoms,” Fedotowsky emphasized in her update on January 26.

“He feels so healthy, best shape of your life. I mean, your bloodwork at every annual [check-up] has come back absolutely perfect. No lumps and bumps in his throat, like, his thyroid has been felt,” said Fedotowsky.

Manno revealed that both he and Fedotowsky had undergone a Prenuvo full-body MRI scan more than a year ago, according to Us Weekly.

"We both, for the most part, got clean bills of health,” Manno recalled.

“They did detect two spots on my thyroid and then my primary care doctor was like, ‘OK, that’s something. We’ll take another look at it in a year and see what’s going on,’” he shared.

At his doctor’s request, Kevin Manno recently underwent an ultrasound and a biopsy, which confirmed the presence of cancer.

“Not only had it doubled in size in the year, but then the biopsy showed that it was cancerous,” Manno explained.

“My overall feeling is just, like, gratitude and I feel so thankful that we caught this when we did. Early detection is, sort of, the message that we want to spread now.”

Fedotowsky expressed her gratitude that the Prenuvo scan played a role in identifying the condition early.

“I feel like this is such a blessing in a way,” Fedotowsky said.

“It has given us a new outlook on life and it makes us more appreciative for every single day, and we can handle this and take care of this. You’re going to be around forever,” she reflected.

Manno is now preparing for surgery to remove the cancerous tissue.

“The prognosis is very good,” he assured in the video on January 26.

“It looks good. It’s going to be something I can go in February 10th [and have a] surgery. We’re going to knock it out and it’ll be behind us,” he added.

Fedotowsky and Manno, who have been married since 2017, share two children, Molly, eight, and Riley, six.
