LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After former president courted diverse voters at a rally in New York, co-host of 'The View' Ana Navarro criticized fellow Latinos for supporting Donald Trump, saying they had a "very stupid attitude" about immigration.

"There are some Latino immigrants who forget they came here as immigrants and who want to shut the door behind them, and who think being anti-immigrant somehow is going to make them pass as more American, pass as whatever," Navarro said on CNN where she is a commentator. "And that’s a very stupid attitude to have," she added.

Ana Navarro cited the 2019 El Paso mass shooting

Navarro then brought up the 2019 El Paso, Texas, mass shooting in which a gunman targeted Hispanics in an attempt to discredit Latino GOP supporters. "What folks don’t realize is that when the guy drives thousands of miles to go hunt down Latinos in a Walmart in Texas, he doesn't care when you came here. He doesn't care what your accent is," she said.

"What he's looking for is, does it look like me, does it sound like me? That's what he's looking for. So, you know, when people are anti-something, they're not asking for your papers, they're just anti-that group," she added, according to Fox News

Donald Trump's Bronx rally

Trump held a rally on Thursday, May 23, in Bronx, a borough of New York City.

According to the Trump campaign, up to 25,000 people attended the event while several outlets reported that only 8,000 to 10,000 people showed up. Many Black and Latino Americans who attended the rally expressed their concerns about crime, inflation, and illegal immigration under Biden's presidency, which helped the event make headlines.

At the remarkably diverse rally, Trump did not seem to temper his rhetoric about immigration. He claimed that illegal immigration is causing rape, abuse, and the spread of disease, which prompted the crowd to chant "send them back!"

CNN host Jim Acosta condemned Donald Trump for his words

Jim Acosta, host of CNN, blasted Trump for his remarks, saying that he was "demonizing immigrants during his appeal to Black and Hispanic voters by using incendiary rhetoric."

"Trump is doing better among Latinos," he told Navarro of the poll numbers. "He is doing better among African American voters. And it certainly is a threat to the president‘s re-election campaign. What do you make of this disconnect?" he added.

In response, Navarro said there are a number of reasons, one of which is that since Trump is still primarily distracted by his legal troubles, people tend to forget the "stupid stuff" he says.

"People already know the guy's a misogynist, they already know he‘s a racist, they already know he says divisive things, and they seem not to take him literally or seriously," she said, adding "They think it is part of a clown act entertainment."

Navarro, a former GOP strategist who is currently one of the party's most vociferous critics, gained notoriety for her caustic remarks on CNN and 'The View.' Although she is still officially a Republican, she is vehemently against the party and frequently advocates voting for Democrats.

Internet is ashamed of Ana Navarro 'as a Latino'

Netizens slammed Navarro for her latest remarks regarding Lations for supporting Donald Trump. One user wrote, "The View is just another version of Jerry Springer" while another tweeted, "I am so ashamed of her as a Latino."

"Get the ridiculous show off the air!!!!!" one user demanded while another tweeted, "All they can do now is insult Trump supporters. They. Are. Desperate." "They don’t have anything to say so they call people names. The Democrats way," wrote one.
