The 41-year-old actor in a touching conversation with 'Sesame Street’s Elmo, Garfield shared how his grief helps him stay connected to his mother.

In a heartfelt conversation with Elmo, Andrew Garfield admitted that his sorrow for his mother’s passing is a “gift” because it brings back cherished memories of their time together.
The actor known for playing 'Spider-Man', suffered the tragic loss of his mother to pancreatic cancer in 2019 while he was filming 'The Eyes of Tammy Faye' according to Daily Mail.
"I'm just thinking about my mom today," he said during the conversation. "She passed away not too long ago, and I just miss her a lot," said Garfield.
Elmo, the beloved 'Sesame Street' character, empathized with Garfield's feelings. "Elmo always feels really bad when he misses somebody,"
Elmo remarked, to which Garfield responded, "Me too. But that sadness is kind of a gift."

Garfield elaborated on how grief, though painful, can be a beautiful reminder of love.
"It's kind of a lovely thing to feel in a way because it means you really loved somebody when you miss them," the actor added.

"When I miss my mom, I remember all of the cuddles I used to get from her, all the hugs I used to get from her, and it makes me feel close to her when I miss her, in a strange way," shared Garfield.
He also expressed his gratitude for the joy his mother brought into his life, adding that remembering her happiness is part of his healing process.
"I'm happy to have all the memories of my mom and the joy she brought me and the joy she brought my brother and my dad, and everyone she ever met, everyone that was around her," said Garfield.
"So when I miss her, I remember she made me so happy. So I can celebrate her and I can miss her at the same time," he added to which Elmo expressed a sigh, "O! Yeah!"
