Andrew Garfield's 'devastated' GF Kate Tomas ends romance after his confession about Florence Pugh scene

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Andrew Garfield's split from girlfriend Dr Kate Tomas was triggered by the actor's confession about a scene he filmed with his co-star Florence Pugh.

The 41-year-old actor and Tomas called it quits after the latter was driven mad after learning her partner's infatuation toward Pugh while shooting an "intense" sex scene for the movie 'We Live in Time."

According to a source, the revelation that Garfield did not hear the director calling "cut" during the filming "devasted" Tomas, reported RadarOnline.

In a now-deleted comment on Instagram, Toman confirmed her romantic relationship with Garfield had ended.

"We broke up months ago, but I'm sure he will be happy to know that he is loved," she replied to a comment in her post about her new meditation guide.

Another user took a swipe at Tomas, asking whether she would stop talking about the 'The Amazing Spider-Man' actor because he would never talk about her.

"Sweetheart, the only people who ever talk about or centre a man in my life, work, business, and social media are women like you," Tomas retorted.

The drama started with an interview by Garfield, in which he promoted his movie with Pugh.

About the filming of the sex scene, he said, "We get into it as it were, and we go a little bit further than we were meant to because we didn't hear 'cut,' and it's feeling safe. And we're just kinda like, 'Ok, we'll just go into the next thing, we'll let this progress, and we'll just carry on."

The actor added that he and Pugh had a "telepathic" conversation that the take was going beyond the needed time. Director Stuart Bentley and the boom operator had uncomfortably averted their gaze from the co-stars when the duo looked up after the scene.

According to one source, Tomas was "one of the most liberal people on the planet," but even she was hurt by her ex-boyfriend's remarks.

"To hear her lover say he was so entranced by Florence, they went on pretending to have sex even after 'cut' was called is devastating for her ego – and potentially their relationship," the source added, noting that any girlfriend would be "devastated" in such a situation.

Garfield was previously in a relationship with Emma Stone and model Alyssa Miller in 2021 and 2022. He had earlier expressed a desire to keep his personal life private.

In a 2021 interview with Bustle, he admitted that he had designed his life to be away from the public eye because he had the right to be an ordinary person who could be messy, sorrowful, and stupid.
