Prince Harry reunites with his father King Charles for first time in 19 months

LONDON, ENGLAND: Prince Harry and King Charles have reunited in London for the first time in more than a year.
Their last in-person meeting was in February 2024, shortly after King Charles revealed he was undergoing treatment for cancer.

The visit followed a busy schedule for the Duke of Sussex in the UK. He attended the WellChild Awards, visited Nottingham to highlight youth initiatives, and paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth on the third anniversary of her death.
Harry rushed from an earlier engagement, telling onlookers he was “running late” for something. On the same day, King Charles returned to the capital after spending several weeks at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, per Hello!

King Charles and Prince Harry’s strained relationship
The reunion marks a significant step in their relationship, which has faced challenges in recent years.
According to People, those close to Harry revealed King Charles had not been taking his calls, with messages often left unanswered.
In May, Harry told BBC News that he wanted a “reconciliation” with his father. He also admitted that his memoir, 'Spare', and other choices had made communication with his family more difficult.
Harry also took aim at Charles, expressing his frustration after losing the case of security protection in the UK.
“I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point in continuing to fight anymore,” Harry told the BBC.
“I don't know how much longer my father has.” But Harry took aim at Buckingham Palace officials after the court of appeal rejected a bid to restore his police protection detail that was stripped by a government committee when he stepped away from his royal duties and moved to the US.
"What I'm struggling to forgive, and what I will probably always struggle to forgive, is the decision that was made in 2020 that affects my every single day, and that is knowingly putting me and my family in harm's way,” Harry said at the time.
