LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Angelina Jolie made rare comments when she opened up about her six children's aspirations and why she doesn't foresee them following in her or Brad Pitt's footsteps.

The 49-year-old actress discussed their future during an interview while promoting her new film, 'Maria', in Los Angeles.

Angelina Jolie on her children’s privacy

Angelina Jolie was asked in an interview on E! News about her children's potential interest in acting, Jolie responded, "No, I think they're especially shy, very private people."

"And they want to be private," she added further.

Jolie is the mother of Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, whom she shares with ex-husband Brad Pitt.

Despite her children's reluctance to pursue the limelight, Jolie noted their behind-the-scenes involvement in her projects.

Maddox and Pax have assisted director Pablo Larrain on 'Maria', which tells the story of the renowned opera singer Maria Callas.

"Mad and Pax were on this one doing AD [assistant directing] work," Jolie told Hollywood Reporter in August. She added that Pax has contributed as a still photographer and praised Larrain for recognizing his talent.

Angelina Jolie’s emotional journey in 'Maria'

Angelina Jolie tackled the demanding role of Maria Callas in 'Maria' and expressed gratitude for having her sons present during filming.

"I have never had a set where my family is not allowed to be there because I’m focusing—I’m not that person," she explained.

Having her children around provided comfort during intense scenes. "When I would have really heavy times, they would come over and just give me a hug or a cup of tea."

Jolie reflected on the emotional weight of her performance, noting that it was a unique experience for her children to witness her expressing such vulnerability.

"That was probably one of the more intense things was that—usually when I’m expressing that much pain, it’s not in front of my children," she said.

She added, "You really try to hide from your children how much pain and sadness you carry. And so for them to be with you when you’re expressing it at such a level, I think it was the first time they ever heard me cry like that."

Angelina Jolie’s awards buzz for 'Maria'

'Maria' has already generated an Oscar call ahead of its release in select theaters on November 27 and Netflix on December 11.

Jolie expressed her appreciation for the recognition, stating, "Any support, or anything that says you did your job well, especially when it's one when you care about so much, it means a lot."

Jolie's daughter Vivienne previously worked on the Broadway play 'The Outsiders' and had a role as young Aurora in the 2014 movie 'Maleficent'.

Zahara also contributed as a voice actor in the same animated film, showcasing the family's varied talents.
