Angelina Jolie’s son Pax keeps ties with father Brad Pitt’s family despite ongoing rift

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pax Jolie-Pitt has emerged as the unexpected focal point in the ongoing narrative surrounding Brad Pitt’s relationship with his children. While much of the attention around the Jolie-Pitt family has centered on widening distance and strained ties following years of public and legal disputes between Pitt and Angelina Jolie. 

New reports suggest that Pax may be maintaining a quiet and continued connection with his father's side of the family. This stands out as a rare development in an otherwise fractured family dynamic that has played out in the public eye for years.

Pax Jolie-Pitt reportedly remains connected to Brad Pitt’s family

Pax, 22, is reportedly still maintaining a relationship with Brad Pitt’s extended family, a detail that has drawn attention given the broader narrative of distance between the actor and most of his children.

“Pax still has a relationship with his dad’s side of the family and continues to spend time with them,” a source told Page Six. “He recently joined his family as they went out to dinner and celebrated his cousin Sydney’s engagement to Archimede Jerome.”

An insider said that Pitt’s sister, Julie Pitt Neal, was also present at the gathering, along with his niece Reagan Pitt and several other close relatives. But it is important to note that, despite Pax’s close relationship with his father’s side of the family, he “doesn’t have much of a relationship with Brad,” a source told the publication.

According to media reports, Pitt’s relationship with most of his children has remained strained in recent years. The situation is described as an ongoing family divide, with limited public interaction between Pitt and several of his children.

Brad Pitt’s children move away from the Pitt surname

Speaking about the children who have dropped the Pitt surname, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt legally filed to remove “Pitt” from her name in 2024 after turning 18. Zahara Marley Jolie has also been introduced publicly using only “Jolie” in recent years. Vivienne Jolie has likewise been credited as “Jolie” in official and public listings.

The surname changes have drawn attention amid ongoing family tensions following Pitt and Jolie’s separation and long-running legal disputes.

The actors from 'Mr and Mrs Smith' separated in 2016 after Jolie filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Their split followed serious tensions in the marriage. The divorce also led to a long legal fight over custody and family matters, which lasted for several years.
