LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Eight years after her divorce from Chris Pratt, Anna Faris gave a rare reflection of their past marriage. The actress made it clear that she holds no bad blood toward her ex-husband.

However, Faris admitted that the divorce left her feeling “sad,” while the intense public and Hollywood scrutiny surrounding the split was difficult to navigate. Anna Faris talks about her divorce from Chris Pratt

While speaking with Variety on a Zoom call from her wood cabin, Faris dissected her previous marriage. Reflecting on the emotional aftermath of the split and the intense public attention that followed, Faris admitted that the experience left a lasting impact on her.

"I was feeling sad. Sad. I do feel like I had enough gumption, enough of a core, and I have tried to be careful about how much Hollywood infiltrates, but now I’ve been on a spectrum of fame for 26 years, so I would be naïve to think that it hasn’t shaped who I am at this point. The scrutiny."

"I’m lucky that at that time I had my podcast (‘Unqualified’). That goes back to the talk radio. I wanted, like, four people to listen and to build my own secret community. I wanted an avenue outside of Hollywood as a way to connect with people."

Faris explained that the scrutiny surrounding her personal life was difficult to navigate, but her podcast, Unqualified, provided an outlet that helped her connect with people beyond Hollywood and maintain a sense of community during a challenging period.

Inside Anna Faris and Chris Pratt’s 8-year marriage and divorce

Faris and Pratt were married for eight years after tying the knot in Bali, Indonesia, in July 2009. The pair announced their separation in August 2017, and their divorce was finalized in 2018.

Faris has always spoken positively about her relationship with Pratt post-divorce. Over the years, the two have moved on with their personal lives while maintaining an amicable co-parenting dynamic.

Anna Faris gets emotional reflecting on time she felt pushed out of Hollywood

In the same interview, Faris opened up about feeling uncertain about her place in Hollywood after 'Mom' ended. The actress admitted she felt like the industry no longer knew where she fit, recalling, "I don't think Hollywood knows what to do with me. So, I have to build my own house."

Faris said the end of the sitcom and the quarantine period left her dealing with "a kind of depression" and feeling emotionally drained. She also found it difficult being asked to audition for roles she felt she might have secured more easily years earlier.

Becoming emotional while reflecting on that chapter, Faris shared that returning for 'Scary Movie' has helped her "reframe" her relationship with Hollywood, giving her a renewed sense of confidence and control over her career.
