CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy was confronted by a group of anti-Israel protestors at Union Park in Chicago, located close to the Democratic National Convention venue on Thursday, August 22, reported the New York Post.

One of the demonstrators told the biotech entrepreneur that he had no right to be there if he did not support the Palestinian people. Ramaswamy retorted, saying, "We are America, and so we actually get to all express ourselves peacefully."

The Republican turned away from the protester as he asked whether he had got to express being a racist.

Demonstrators chanted, "Racist, go home! Racist go home!" as security details surrounded him in protection.

As the security detail ushered Vivek Ramaswamy from the swarm of anti-Isarel protestors,' performance artist Crackhead Barney confronted him.

"Why are you a genocidal warmonger?" she asked Ramaswamy, who refused to pay attention to her questions.

Crackhead Barney gained prominence for harassing Alec Baldwin at a coffee shop in New York City in April and later hammed it in an interview on 'Piers Morgan Uncensored'.

The performance artist's name remains unknown, but she is based in the Empire State, and her recent videos are mostly focused on the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Vivek Ramaswamy weighs in on DNC security amid anti-Israel protests

The 39-year-old Republican earlier, on August 22, commented on the tight security at the DNC against anti-Isarel protestors.

“I’m grateful that Democrats appear to now agree with Donald Trump’s policy of building a wall,” Ramaswamy said to reporters during a press conference at the Trump Hotel Chicago.

“If only they cared as much about keeping illegals out of our country as they do keeping their own left-wing protesters out of their own convention, our border crisis would actually be behind us,” he added.

Anti-Isreal protestors gathered on the DNC grounds this week in protest against the Biden administration's continued support for the Jewish state, threatening to tarnish Vice President Kamala Harris's nomination.

Despite thousands participating in the rally on the final night of the DNC, the demonstration remained peaceful except for one or two confrontations between protesters and counter-protesters, as per ABC Chicago.

The former White House hopeful, who is a supporter of Donald Trump, opposed military aid to fund Israel's war against Hamas. Furthermore, he also disagreed with restricting the free speech of college protesters that spread across US campuses in the wake of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel.

"Hate speech is the expression of an opinion, and all opinions, no matter how heinous, are protected," he said in an October 2023 interview with NBC News.
