CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: On Sunday night, August 18, a lone, masked anti-Israel protestor interrupted the Democratic National Convention welcome party on stage at Navy Pier in Chicago. The incident was captured on camera and shared on social media.

The protester stormed the stage, grabbed a microphone, and declared, "You are funding a genocide." He added, "The Harris-Biden administration keeps sending money to Israel."

5 rallies against Israel-Hamas war set to take place this week

The Coalition to March on the DNC launched a protest against the Israel-Hamas conflict from Union Park in Chicago on Monday afternoon.

Before the convention's closing ceremonies on Thursday, at least five more rallies have been made public, according to Fox 32 Chicago.

US Palestinian Community Network hosted a demonstration in Union Park recently

According to the outlet, the United States Palestinian Community Network held a protest in Union Park early on Monday. The TV station also said that on Sunday, demonstrators gathered in the city center to express their demands for abortion and LGBTQ rights.

"People in the city of Chicago shouldn’t be afraid," Chicago Police Department Superintendent Larry Snelling said during a Monday afternoon presentation before the City Club of Chicago, according to Fox 32. "You should not be afraid to go about your day and do what you normally do."

"Will there be disruptions in traffic? Yes. So you’re going to see a lot more traffic. But you’re also going to see a lot more officers. High visibility of officers, bike patrol, you’re going to see all of those things out there," the official added.

Internet prays for everyone's safety during Chicago DNC

Netizens reacted after the pro-Palestinian supporter interrupted the DNC welcome party yesterday.

One X user tweeted, "I'll pray for everyone's safety during the DNC event." Another added, "The Chicago Police Chief said this morning that this person had permission from the event host to be there. This was staged."

"Hilarious. The dumbest people on earth who normally hate each other are now competing for the attention of the very people who divided them into little tribes of fartlings. This won't end well. Enjoy the show," remarked one.

"Looks like the DNC forgot to check their guest list. Maybe a little more focus on party safety and less on party vibes?" quipped someone else.
