PITTSBURGH: A fight at a baby shower in Pittsburgh's Fairywood neighborhood on Saturday, February 3, night resulted in the death of a 19-year-old and the injuries of two more, according to the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department.

Following reports of six to seven gunshots ringing out where a private baby shower was taking place, officers were called to the Salvation Army's Pittsburgh Westside and Worship Center on Broadhead Fording Road at 6:15 p.m., according to a statement released on Facebook by the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department.

Two male victims shot in Allegheny County

When the police arrived, they found two male victims who had been shot. Both the Allegheny County medical examiner and the public safety department reported that while the other victim was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, Antoine Dorsey was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

According to police, a third victim left the shower area and went to a house on Glen Mawr Street. Police said he was found later on Saturday night and was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Detectives from the Violent Crime Unit are still actively investigating the dispute, according to Pittsburgh Public Information Officer Cara Cruz, who spoke with ABC News. No arrests have been made as of yet.

In a statement about the shooting, the Salvation Army told ABC News on Sunday that it was "saddened to confirm that there was a tragic shooting at its Pittsburgh Westside Worship and Service Center yesterday evening."

"The incident occurred during a private function being hosted at the Center and did not involve any members of The Salvation Army," the group stated.

"We are grieved by this senseless act of violence in our church and pray for the victims of the shooting and their families. The Salvation Army is cooperating with the local authorities investigating the incident."

"The Pittsburgh Westside Worship and Service Center will be closed until further notice," it stated.

Witness narrates the incident

When the gunfire started, there was a woman at the party who wished to remain anonymous, WPXI stated in a report.

"We heard two loud bangs, and it sounded like somebody, like an old-school door where they’re metal, and it sounded like somebody hit something off the door." the woman reported. "Everyone simply fell silent."

The woman claimed that since they were all in the center's gym, they were initially unaware that the bangs were coming from gunfire.

“Then we heard like, I don’t know how many other shots, but it was at least four or five more, and everybody kind of started screaming and scrambling and it was kind of chaos,” she said.

People on Broadhead Fording Road were observed fleeing the building. Noel Athias, who lives nearby, had just gotten off the bus.

Athias said, "My girlfriend was telling me that she saw people running around. She wasn’t sure what was going on either. She was in the house. I’m not sure if it’s people running after hearing the shots or what was going on."

Just before 6:15 p.m., Athias witnessed the massive response from Pittsburgh Police, who raced to the building.

“I was on my way home when I got off the bus right there,” Athias said. “I saw a whole bunch of police cars over here and yellow tape.”

The 19-year-old Pittsburgher Antoine Dorsey died. According to the police, two more men were hurt and sent to the hospital.

The woman who was present at the celebration said, "We were there to celebrate a baby and now it’s a tragedy." Police are still looking into the fatal shooting, but they have no suspects at this time.
