WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump sharpened his attacks on the Democratic Party's rising wave of socialist-backed candidates during a recent interview, warning that their agenda threatens the country's stability.

The remarks came in response to a question about the traction socialist-backed candidates have gained in recent primaries, a trend Trump has increasingly zeroed in on as a political target ahead of the midterm elections.

Trump warns socialist candidates will ruin America

"I think it's crazy because they're gonna ruin our country," Trump said, adding, "I don't know if they want to, I think either they're very naive or they actually wanna ruin the country."

"Anybody doing what they're doing and what they're espousing, everything turns out to ashes and junk and filth."

He went further, framing the movement as part of a historical pattern of failure: "No matter where you look, go back a thousand years with different names, anybody doing what they're doing and what they're espousing, everything turns out to ashes and junk and filth."

“You know, one thing I said the other day for the first time ever, never thought of it, but you go to these cities that are taken over by the socialists and the communists, they're always filthy, dirty, they're disgusting.”

"They're always dirty, and, you know, I'm a clean person, and people I know are clean, they like that, and you are, I know you very well, you're very clean.”

Trump intensifies attacks on socialist Democrats

Trump’s comments echo the rhetoric he has been using in recent rallies and interviews.

He has repeatedly described socialist candidates as “godless communists” and portrayed Democrat-led cities as “filthy,” with busted storefronts and even “gross trees.”

Trump’s critics have pointed out that many major cities run by Democrats continue to see strong property values, significant investment, and a steady stream of tourists.

From late-night Truth Social posts and all-caps rants to rally speeches packed with humor, anger, and spectacle, Donald Trump has built a style that has dominated the American, and perhaps even the global, political landscape for the past decade.

Last month, speaking at Mount Rushmore over the Fourth of July weekend, Trump said, “You can be a communist, or you can be a patriot. You cannot be both.”

A June 28 Truth Social post declared that “Communism is the Greatest Threat to our Country since World War I, World War II, Pearl Harbor, or 9/11!”

That same week, he told a conservative, faith-based conference in Washington that “communists” nominated by Democrats in New York City “want to completely destroy the traditional American way of life.”
