WASHINGTON, DC: GOP Senator Lindsey Graham had an awkward moment while boarding a flight as an unnamed passenger shamed him for his support of President Donald Trump despite being a friend of the late John McCain, the Irish Star reported on Monday, February 24.

The incident was filmed by the passenger, uploaded on social media and found its way to Reddit where it blew up, especially for the part where the passenger claimed that Graham had, among others, disappointed her friend "Katie."

While the identity of Katie is unknown, netizens have rallied behind the person to call out the politician who has over time turned into a supporter of President Donald Trump after initially being critical of him.

The clip that went viral on Reddit shows Graham, 69, walking down an airport jetway accompanied by security, when the passenger filming calls him out off camera, saying, "Senator John McCain is ashamed of you and so is my friend Katie."

The South Carolina politician considered McCain, the late Senator from Arizona who died in 2018, his best friend in Washington, according to the Associated Press. McCain was known for opposing Trump, but Graham has become one of Trump's biggest supporters after his death.

After taking office for his second term, Trump has shot down Graham's budget proposal which had two bills of $175 billion and $150 billion marked for border control and military funds, respectively, as well as another aimed at upholding Trump's tax cuts from the first term.

However, Trump wants everything to be incorporated in "ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL," as he stated in a post on Truth Social.

Internet joins 'Katie' in being disappointed with Lindsey Graham

Netizens reacting to the viral clip on Reddit trolled Graham while siding with 'Katie.' The following comments demonstrate their takes.

"Idk who Katie is but I respect her disdain for Graham," wrote a person.

"lmao love it. Senator John McCain and even more bitingly, Katie," shared another.

"Katie has the right ideas," noted a third.

"This man needs to be shamed wherever he goes the rest of his life," stated a fourth.

"McCain rolling over in his grave, he can live with. Pissing off Katie? He’s in shambles," quipped a fifth.

"So great without context that I don’t even want any," expressed a sixth.

"In the end, we are all out here striving for Katie's approval," jibed a seventh.

"John McCain is one thing, but to disappoint Katie is damn near treason," echoed yet another.
