LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Barack Obama recently disclosed that his daughters, Malia, 25, and Sasha, 22, are steering clear of political careers, taking to heart the wisdom imparted by their mother, Michelle Obama.

During a fundraising event for President Joe Biden in Los Angeles on June 15, the former president shared personal insights into the career choices of his daughters.

In a conversation with Jimmy Kimmel and Joe Biden at the Peacock Theater, Obama was asked which of his daughters might make a better president. His response was definitive: "That is a question I do not need to answer, because Michelle drilled into them so early that you would be crazy to go into politics. It'll never happen."

Biden chimed in, praising the sisters as "powerful young women." Both Malia and Sasha have taken their mother’s advice to heart.

Malia and Sasha explore entertainment industry

Malia has ventured into the entertainment industry, most recently showcasing a short film she wrote and directed at the Sundance Film Festival. The film, 'The Heart,' credited to Malia Ann, explores the story of a man grieving his mother’s death "after she leaves him an unusual request in her will."

"We hope you enjoy the film and it makes you feel a bit less lonely, or at least reminds you not to forget about the people who are," Malia shared in a video for Sundance discussing her project. She has also worked as a staff writer on the Amazon Prime thriller series Swarm.

Meanwhile, Sasha graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in sociology in May 2023. She seems to be following in her older sister’s footsteps, having earned a casting interviewer credit for the Showtime series 'Couples Therapy' under her legal name, Natasha Obama, according to The Cut.

The sisters, who currently live together, as noted in Michelle Obama's book 'The Light We Carry,' are both exploring creative fields.

Netizens react to Obama's opinion on daughters' career choices

A user commented on Yahoo, "Big Mike laying it down."

Another added, "Nepotism is great folks."

A third claimed, "It was a very lucrative career for them. It helped launch their net worth to well over 200 million."

"The whole family is the same; none of them do anything for working people. They all just want to hang out with Lebron and Taylor Swift and Oprah. Money worshipping family from top to bottom," read a comment.

Another added, "She knows best."

"Did they also tell them not to marry a politician either," mocked a user.
