Barron Trump makes first public appearance since inauguration at Mar-a-Lago Thanksgiving dinner

PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Barron Trump is trending after rare footage showed the 19-year-old appearing publicly with his parents, President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, as the family arrived for Thanksgiving dinner at Mar-a-Lago.

The sighting, the first in months, revived online interest in the youngest Trump child, who has largely stayed out of view during his father’s second term while attending New York University.

Videos posted on November 27 show Barron Trump walking into the Mar-a-Lago ballroom alongside Donald Trump, Melania Trump, and his grandfather, Viktor Knavs. The Florida appearance marks one of Barron’s few public sightings in 2025. He was last seen at President Trump’s January 20 inauguration in Washington, DC.

Barron, now a sophomore at New York University’s Stern School of Business, typically keeps a low profile. Though he reportedly lives at Trump Tower while attending NYU, he has not been photographed on campus since the fall semester began and has skipped numerous high-profile family and political events throughout the year.

Despite being one of the most recognizable political family members, Barron Trump has been notably absent from many major Trump family moments in 2025. Public sightings have been scarce since his father’s inauguration week, when the entire Trump family was last seen together at events marking the start of Donald Trump’s second term.

Barron’s presence at NYU has generated attention, especially when he was spotted arriving for classes last fall flanked by Secret Service agents. 

The last time the Trump family appeared together publicly

While individual Trump family members have appeared frequently at major events and alongside the president throughout 2025, the entire extended family has not been photographed together since the January inauguration week. That includes Donald Trump’s five children, their spouses or partners, grandchildren, Melania Trump, and her father, Viktor Knavs.

President Trump has made 17 trips to Florida and 15 visits to Mar-a-Lago this year, often accompanied by other family members or high-profile guests, but not Barron or Melania until the Thanksgiving sighting.

Before he turned 18, Melania Trump made a deliberate effort to keep Barron out of the spotlight. Even now, at age 19, Barron maintains a level of privacy unusual for someone of his prominence. He avoids public events, does not maintain visible social media accounts, and rarely appears in photos, despite the family’s frequent media coverage.
