Netanyahu responded to the attack at a synagogue in West Bloomfield on Thursday, March 13, saying the incident highlights the ongoing problem of antisemitism around the world.

In a post shared on X, he linked the attack to broader hostility toward Jewish communities and Israel. Netanyahu wrote: “Antisemitism knows no limits or boundaries. Israel is attacked because it is the Jewish state. Temple Israel in Detroit was attacked today because it is a Jewish house of worship.”

Later the same day, another post from the same platform praised the synagogue’s security personnel and also thanked Trump for his stance against antisemitic attacks in the US.

He wrote: “I salute the brave security personnel at the synagogue for their swift action. It saved lives. We do not bow to antisemitic attacks in Israel and I am grateful to President Trump for his firm stance against antisemitic attacks in America.”

Authorities have identified the suspect as Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, though officials said the identification is still being verified as the investigation continues.

Now, DHS said Ghazali was born in Lebanon in 1985 and entered the US on May 10, 2011, on an immigrant visa as the spouse of a US citizen. Officials said he later applied for citizenship in October 2015 and became a US citizen on February 5, 2016.

Investigators say the suspect had been living near Dearborn, Michigan, and the case remains under active investigation.
