NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: During MSNBC's primetime coverage of the breaking news, a panel of hosts swiftly came to President Joe Biden's defense, criticizing Special Counsel Robert Hur for what they perceived as injecting "ageism" into his recently released report.

Following this news, Fox News host Sean Hannity reports on hosts defending Biden and slamming Hur.

However, many people on the internet brutally slammed the network, calling them “pathetic.”

Sean Hannity reports on MSNBC defending Joe Biden

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “MSDNC TRIES TO SAVE JOE! Robert Hur's Comments 'Cheap Shot, Derogatory Attacks' [WATCH].”

Hannity’s tweet presented an article from his official website which reported the MSNBC anchors saving “poor Joe” following the Special Counsel Robert Hur’s brutal remark as an “elderly man with a poor memory.”

During MSNBC's primetime special coverage of the breaking news, ‘The Beat’ host Ari Melber kicked off the discussion by describing the report as "very good legal news" for Biden, highlighting the speedy conclusion of the investigation, partly attributed to Biden's cooperation with investigators.

Hur's inquiry into the classified documents discovered in Biden’s possession ultimately determined there was insufficient evidence to pursue charges.

He said, “Hur looks like – the Trump holdover prosecutor looks like having gotten the thing that helps you get the most facts possible – a timely interview with a very busy and very legally protected figure, the president of the United States and having gotten the answers that helped him reach the conclusion that there was no crime, he then started to cherry-pick the interview for his spin on basically what he perceives to be, Mr Hur's opinion, derogatory information."

Melber emphasized that it's "standard ops" for individuals under investigation to claim "I don't recall,” but quickly accused Hur's critique of Biden's memory as being ageist.

He said, “Do you want to get into the age thing? Let's call it what it is. This is ageism snuck into a report clearing the person of any wrongdoing.”

"If you want to get the ageism, young people are told all the time by their lawyers, 'Hey, you're way better off leaning into I don't recall than possibly misstating something to a federal officer or under oath in this case.' So it's a lot of derogatory stuff."

Melber said, “And I do think, and I want to be clear, a credit to the president that he chose to do fast cooperation. I think that's good for the system. Politically, though, it's now being used against him.”

Melber's MSNBC colleague Chris Hayes asserted that Hur was "frustrated and angry" because he "didn't get more" from his investigation into Biden, shifting the focus to age as the “central narrative question here that this all revolves around."

Hayes said, “In terms of its political repercussions, the way the news happened today, the questions being asked [of] him by multiple figures there. And in the end, what makes it such a useful political tool for people that want Donald Trump to be elected or want [Biden] not to be re-elected is that the fact that his age is not something you can rebut.”

Hayes further added, "If someone says you're too far left, you can tack to the center. The man is 80 years old!"

Rachel Maddow chimed in, “He rides a bike!” Hayed added, “He is the age he is! And so it's a very useful political attack for them."

Internet calls MSNBC ‘pathetic’

Many X users brutally slammed the network.

One person wrote, “They need to support the cause, Pathetic, so called news,” and another said, “This MSDNC is the most radical left wing media on the main channels. Makes CNN look tame by comparison.”

An X user slammed MSNBC, “They are the master of derogatory remarks!” and another added, “These are the enemy of the people.”

One more person said, “What's sad is these people really think they are journalism. They believe we think they are smarter than us and we believe their bullshit,” and another added, “This group of people are beyond pathetic. The entire World knows Biden is a babbling idiot. They have the audacity to try and protect him. He’s unprotect-able. They are defending a guy who has systematically destroyed the fabric of this country. It’s disgusting.”
