Bill Ackman under fire for suggesting Joe Biden has 'dementia and Parkinson’s'
WASHINGTON, DC: Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman has ignited controversy after using his substantial social media following to claim that President Joe Biden suffers from a major brain-impairing disorder.
Ackman, who has previously clashed verbally with Biden's granddaughter, made the startling assertion to over a million followers on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"I just spoke to one of the most respected doctors in the world. He says that it is eminently apparent that [President] Biden has Lewy body dementia, Parkinson’s, and/or Alzheimer’s and that his decline will not be linear," Ackman posted, adding ominously, "It will accelerate."

Ackman also posted a video on X and compared Biden's performance during the presidential debate on June 27 with speeches he gave in 2019 and 2020.
Along with the clip Ackman stated, "The compare and contrast with @POTUS Biden of five years ago could not make this more clear. This was not a bad debate. This is dementia."

This was not a bad debate. This is dementia. https://t.co/mFY5UOXSoR
The timing of Ackman's posts coincides with heightened scrutiny of Biden's performance in the recent presidential debate, which has led some to question his capability to take on former President Donald Trump in a potential rematch.
During the 90-minute televised debate, President Biden frequently mumbled, trailed off mid-sentence, and struggled to articulate his points. The Republican presidential candidate Trump seized the opportunity to mock Biden’s sometimes unintelligible statements.
Netizens criticize Bill Ackman for his claims about Joe Biden
Online critics mocked Bill Ackman for spreading unfounded assertions about President Joe Biden without evidence.
A social media user tweeted, "Many respected doctors have said the same about your boy Donald too. What’s your point, General?"
"No respected doctor in the world gives a diagnosis like that. You just mentioned 3 completely different neurodegenerative diseases altogether. That's nonsense," said somebody else.
"No s**t Sherlock Did he tell you the sky is blue as well," stated another individual.
One added, "Cool. Now do Trump."
"Bill did you tip the doctor 5 bucks," mocked another individual.
"Bill this is irresponsible and inflammatory to state. The doctor you spoke with has not examined President Biden and would never give a diagnosis without a thorough work up," asserted a user.
"Bill it’s hard to take you seriously on this after you backed rfk jr and are probably tossing money at trump too for all we know," chimed another.
