Billie Eilish calls Elon Musk a ‘pathetic coward’ for hoarding wealth amid global crises
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Billie Eilish slammed Elon Musk in a series of Instagram Stories on November 13, criticizing how his massive fortune could address urgent global issues.
The ‘Birds of a Feather’ singer accused the Tesla and SpaceX CEO of hoarding wealth instead of using it to tackle crises such as world hunger, clean water shortages, and the destruction in Gaza, Ukraine, and Syria.
Billie Eilish’s expletive-filled rant at Elon Musk
Billie Eilish, 23, shared graphics from advocacy group MyVoiceMyChoice.org with her 124 million Instagram followers, showing how Musk's wealth could make a global impact. One slide suggested Musk could spend $40 billion a year to end world hunger by 2030, or $140 billion to provide safe drinking water worldwide for seven years. Another estimated that $1–2 billion annually could save all 10,443 critically endangered species. A fourth proposed $53.2 billion to rebuild Gaza and the West Bank, with even larger investments potentially restoring parts of Ukraine and Syria.
Known for speaking out on climate, social justice, and human rights, Eilish posted each statistic to highlight the enormous impact Musk’s spending could achieve.
Her final message drew widespread attention. On a stark black background, she wrote, “f*****g pathetic p***y b***h c****d.” While she did not directly name Musk, the comment followed her slides about his trillionaire status, leaving little doubt about her target.
This blunt message marks one of Eilish’s most direct public criticisms of Musk, who continues to stir debate over extreme wealth, political influence, and public responsibility. Musk has not publicly responded.
illie Eilish calls out wealthy for not being generous at WSJ awards
Eilish’s Instagram posts come weeks after her remarks at the WSJ Magazine Music Innovator Awards on October 29, held at MoMA in Midtown Manhattan. Speaking to an audience including billionaires such as Mark Zuckerberg, George Lucas, and Hailey Bieber, Eilish urged the rich to use their money thoughtfully.
She said, “We’re in a time right now where the world is really, really bad and really dark and people need empathy and help more than, kind of, ever, especially in our country.”
Directing her comments at the billionaires present, she added, “Love you all, but there’s a few people in here that have a lot more money than me. If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but yeah, give your money away, shorties.”
