'Bonded for life!' Fans thrilled as Seth Meyers and Dua Lipa get matching tattoos while drinking shots

LOS ANGELS, CALIFORNIA: After a 'Houdini' act during day-drinking with Seth Meyers on December 12, 2023, Dua Lipa made a comeback on Late Night on January 9, determined to successfully navigate their alcohol-fueled challenges.

During her appearance, the Grammy-winning artist bravely took a shot from the show's Barbie Dreamhouse drink luge.

To mark the occasion, she and Meyers got matching star tattoos from celebrity tattoo artist Keith 'Bang Bang' McCurdy.

Before getting their tattoos, Meyers, who was a tattoo novice, revealed that he and Dua initially planned to get "a solitary dot" during their first drinking session.

However, Dua suggested the idea of aiming a bit higher and dreaming bigger for their matching tattoos.

"I think... we should... maybe a little star," she suggested, prompting a joking response from Meyers, who asked, "Are you pulling a fast one on me?"

Dua ultimately got the star design on her ankle, with Meyers keeping a watchful eye and asking Bang Bang questions about the tattooing process. "We’re going to be, like, bonded for life," she assured Meyers, emphasizing her commitment to the shared experience.

 

In response, Meyers chose a spot on the back of his calf, humorously stating that he wanted to be able to "kinda forget I have it" if he wished.

Although he rejected the idea of Dua being the one to tattoo him, Meyers, with a shot glass in hand, later confessed that the tattooing process was "not so bad" after all.

Reflecting on the experience, Meyers shared with Dua, "It’s really funny to have made it this far in my life without getting a tattoo." He then raised his glass for a toast, expressing his gratitude to Dua.

Earlier on the show, Dua revealed that she was "very happy to live another day" after cutting short her December day-drinking session with Meyers due to being too intoxicated.

"Can I just tell you what happened?" she asked, continuing, "Within like 45 minutes, we were having a laugh, we were talking, we started drinking – it was multiple shots, lots of different types of shots — gin, vodka, rum, tequila — all the ones you’re not supposed to mix at the same time. About 12 of those in like 45 minutes," she said.

During lunch, Dua mentioned that after going out for a cigarette, she "started getting a little bit dizzy." Subsequently, she went to the bathroom, where she promptly fell asleep.

She had to be transported out of the bar in a wheelchair by her team.

"I was full rag doll," she reminisced, adding, "I don't remember a thing. It was amazing. I woke up two hours later and I was like, 'What happened?'"

Dua Lipa's recent visit to the show garnered comments from fans and followers, with some saying, "I love random celebrity friendships. Like, Seth is legitimately friends with Dua Lipa, who would've seen THAT coming? Same with how Conan and Timothy Olyphant and Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart are besties."
